I give the sequels a helluva hard time, but if Rian can make a cohesive film after the disaster that was The Last Jedi (the "chicken salad" analogy), that's going to be an accomplishment. You mean JJ?., Anyway. Cool shit. I meant Abrams. Damn Rian Johnson has fried my brain when it comes to Star Wars.

I see Y-Wings are back. They might have been useful in the last movie instead of those slow moving bombers that were easily destroyed. But Y-Wings are also slow moving bombers that are easily destroyed. Slower moving than X-Wings and A-Wings (I remember my X-Wing CD-ROM games), yes, but they have more mobility than those Last Jedi bomber things. Not much for laser blasters either, but I believe they were also armed with ion cannons. Heavier ordinance than X's and A's, I think even their shielding was a bit better too. In a squad of fighters they blend right in. Those big bombers stood out and were easy targets because they had jack for shields, and the bombs have to be primed first instead of being able to be primed while in freefall.

I can't wait to see Rey finally defeat Kylo Ren after she already beat him in Ep. 7. You guys are never going to let that one go. Despite being told that Snoke told him to take her alive and he just got shot by a bowcaster.

The bad guys have already destroyed the new Republic, Luke and Han are dead, Leia is.....yeah, and the good guys are down to about a hundred people on a few ships.
Does it really matter if Rey beats Kylo? His side have already won, and the good guys have shown they are completely inept even if they do win.

Between beating this neverending drum and insisting that women being more prominent on the roster is the reason why WWE is in the shitter, it's best to ignore his casual misogyny.

The First Order is going to be presented as incompetent, anyway. A Kylo Ren leadership is likely to be ruled by pure emotion, which is no different than whatever random First Order officers dealing with high blood pressure have presented in their battle tactics in the last two movies. Without the spiritual and calculating leadership of Snoke, they lack the threat overall. Besides, the problem with the Star Wars storytelling model is that when the "Good Guys" are in charge, their time on top is brief due to their oblivious nature, and when the "Bad Guys" are in charge, they're always backstabbing and killing each other that it's laughable.

The average joes living in the SW universe must be sick and tired of this neverending war shit. Some poor guy chugging a freighter between planets must think "I wish they'd all just piss off"

I really liked both of the new movies. But I'm not really a big Star Wars guy who's super invested in the old movies so that's probably why.

I have high hopes with JJ back. Knights of Ren are on the poster and no Rose. Sounds like we’re back on track. Shame on Rian Johnson for f***ing up The Last Jedi like he did.

Y-Wings can be retrofitted to pretty much anything you need, fighter, bomber, support craft, ship neutralizer. They’re quite versatile.

Also linked front facing laser cannons and ion cannons. Slow, good shields and as tough as hell. I believe there was a variant with a rear-facing cannon as well.
This is what I remember from the schematics in the X-Wing series.

Same here I have been a Star Wars fan since I was a little kid I saw a new Hope when it was released in theaters in the 90s I love force awakens and last Jedi. Thought I do enjoy solo, I agree it seemed unnessarry. Also Rouge one felt kinda unnecssary though enjoyable as well

The ion turret could also rotate though this wasn't really achievable in X-Wing. That's also why the Y-Wing cockpit had a dedicated gunner behind the pilot.
They're sturdy if they're in the middle of a fleet and had starfighter support, but they were slow and not very maneuverable at all. I doubt they wouldn't have gotten torn apart by the FO TIE Fighters and ship turbolasers like the bombers the Resistance had at the beginning of TLJ. Because that was a massive f***-up from a tactical standpoint by Poe and the result would've been the same regardless. Remember how easily the Y-Wings got picked off during the Battle of Yavin and that was just with old Imperial turbolaser turrets and standard TIE Fighters. FO's had over 30 years to create more powerful and advanced weapons and their TIE Fighters are now shielded themselves. The Y-Wings would have to be really nice and future-proof as unlike the other major fighter lines like the X-Wing and A-Wing, Koensayr no longer exists to create updated models of the fighter.

Rouge One was kind of unnecessary, but it was a damn good movie and when it was over I at least left the theatre understanding why they felt the need to tell that story. Solo, I thought was okay and had good moments but afterwards I was actually annoyed because I felt they skipped over much more interesting stories during the movie then the one they decided to tell. Like, pretty much everything in the first 20 minutes would’ve been more interesting to flesh out and explore then what they went with. I’d much rather explore his life leading up to why he became a smuggler then the exact events of how he became one EDIT: Also, Emilia Clarke just doesn’t work for me in anything but GoT. He wooden acting works there, can’t buy into her anywhere else

I still haven't seen Solo. Just felt really unnecessary to me. The only interest I ever had in that movie would be seeing what a canon version of Corellia actually looked like.
Rogue One, while not necessarily itself, was at least a damn good movie.

I haven’t seen snyrging else she’s been in though so maybe that’s why. My biggest complaint is they kinda made Han getting the falcon not that big of a deal

Talk going around is that the leaked poster is itself not fake, but using a lot of images of things that have been changed up in post-production, specifically the unknown alien and the Knights of Ren that aren't Kylo. So this could be a legit poster, but more of a prototype of what they're going for rather than the finalized design.

Emelia Clark is in the same club as Kat Dennings and Zendaya in my book...
