So much for intelligent conversation. Well, I try, but I just can't support a movie where a 60 year old man is presented as being on equal standings with a 30 year old in a boxing ring. And I know that it's more than about the boxing, but guess what? Most people see the Rocky movies for the boxing scenes and very little else. Completely honestly, the movie looks like a vehicle for the relationship between Rocky and his son from what little I've seen, and I could honestly care less. Stallone's too old to be doing Rocky movies, but he just hasn't realized it yet. Its not even about the equal standings. No one in the movie thinks Rocky has a chance...The trailer is severely misleading...even Rocky himself is scared to death throughout the film...and if they see this film for boxing scenes they will be horribly disappointed because their is about roughly 15 minutes of boxing in it...

And of course, even though no one believes, he does a montage, and comes back to beat him in the end. Cue celebratory music, and freeze frame ending. It worked when Stallone was younger, but not now.

Just curious, how is the fight and are the montages as awesome as in previous movies?

The fights good but the scene is understandably short...The flashbacks are awesome all throughout the movie, and the montage plays a significant part of the "beast arising within him" side. This movie is a drama, its not directed at the "Super human" Rocky of 3, 4, and 5, its about the million to one shot Rocky of 1 and 2...Its in all honesty a complete stand alone movie...If you have never even seen the Rocky movies before it will still hold your attention...

Hey Spanky hows this any different then wrestling? I don't remember if your a Flair fan or Hogan fan, or a fan of any old wrestlers. Since this is a wrestling board though you obvioudly like wrestling so whats the difference? This isnt an attack by the way, Im just saying this cause its hard to tell emotions in type form. Anyway, Im a big Rocky fan, yes him fighting at 60 is unrealistic but the point of the Rocky series is it gives nerds inspiration. Rocky movies still inspire me to work out, especially Rocky 4 I can't wait to see the new one.

Definitely gotta try and see it this weekend. I've made it a point to see it in theatres since i've never watched a Rocky on the big screen.

Well, I'd be glad if I never had to see Hogan again, and I've really wanted Flair to retire for about the past 5 years, so I think that's your answer.

Well now I understand why you felt Apollo Creed as a force ghost wasn't intellegent conversation ;D LotR I can understand, but you NEED to see the original Star Wars flicks in order to get into heaven.
