Saw Rocky Balboa yesterday. I highly reccomend it. It was way better than I thought it would be. The drama is real. The fight is done well and ends up being very believable in the end. It's a far more realistic and touching movie than Rocky IV will ever be.

I saw this movie opening night. I decided to watch it the moment I saw the trailer. I even told my friends, "I'm not gonna pretend I'm too cool to watch this movie."
And, it was really, really good. I find the ongoing criticism about how it's so unrealistic that a 60-year-old boxing veteran could possibly take a champ in his 30's. Not to nitpick, but is it really any less "realistic" than a street bum lasting 15 rounds with the champ?
And, just as an aside, a movie doesn't have to be realistic anyway. Sometimes, that's the whole point of fiction.
And, as just one more aside, this film wasn't about Stallone trying to hang on to the spotlight (he's been out of it for over a decade, Spy Kids Generic Sequels don't count). It was about giving Rocky the decent sendoff that the fifth movie failed to do.
(The upcoming Rambo film might be another story, though.)

The reason this movie is called "Rocky Balboa" is because Rocky can't count past five.

I saw it yesterday and I loved it. To all the people who think it's unrealistic for Rocky to be fighting when he's 60, didn't George Foreman win the world title at like age 55? Plus, throughout the movie they played it up like Mason Dixon had never been tested. So really you don't know if he's a really good fighter or an average fighter dominating a sucky batch of heavyweights. I won't give anything away but they way the movie played out you actually think Rocky has a shot to beat Dixon even if he's old as crap.
IMO, I think it was the best one since the original Rocky and I've seen them all.

I've loved all the Rocky movies, and this one was no different...I will say though, that my favorite in the whole series is V. I can hear some of you gasping, but if you watch the movie itself without all the hype against it, you'll find a very good film. Same thing with Battlefield Earth, it became a bandwagon thing to hate on it, but the movie wasn't that bad.

I was a little disappointed only because Mason Dixon meant NOTHING for me. They didn't spend enough time developing him I think, although I have to say the film was way too short in the first place. I loved all of the Adrian stuff, but I lost interest in the film with the lackluster montage and the fight itself. I pretty much liked everything until the fight. The highlight of the film by far is Uncle Paulie.

DAMN! I knew i was probably gonna like it but i had no Idea it was gonna be a THAT good. It is probably my favorite out of the series only next to maybe the first one. When Rocky got hit and fell on one knee the whole theater was silent. It was a fitting end to one of the greatest movie franchises of all time.

This movie rocks. Definitely on par with 1 on just how good it is.
The theater even began cheering him on during the fight.
And when he got back up at the end, that was a goosebump moment.
I've never said this, but all the negative reviews you see are dead wrong. The only way you could hate this is if you went in thinking it would be cheesy like 4. But it's a damn good movie.

I told you all my opinion on how fantastic it was but people consistently posted random bashing and nonsense regarding it. Im glad alot of you enjoyed it because I agree as well that its definately on par with the first one.

I thought this was a great way to end the series. I hope they release a new box set, but with this in place of Rocky V.

I just got in from watching it and that was kinda messed up when that girl gave rocky a pic of adrian and then kissed him on the lips seconds later. I was like are you gonna hook up or not.
another funny thing was after the girl asked rocky if he was gonna hit her someone in the theater said "hit her" and that got a few laughs out of us.

The only negative reviews I saw were from people who didn't see the movie yet. All of the professional reviews I've seen have been good too. I think alot of people are underestimating this. Maybe some good word-of-mouth will help. And for the record. I like Rocky V too. It's no where near the quality of this new one, but it's still a damn entertaining movie.
