also I remember Penn Jillette was their voice over guy. Came in to post about Penn, Python (which is how I discovered them) and the old logo.

Penn Gillette as announcer also made lots of snarky comments about MSTies back in the day.
On the topic, I know MST3K's site buried the format of TCC, but an "MTV with comedy clips" sounded interesting.
Oh yes, Ab Fab! I didn't watch it when it started on CC, I rented the VHSs when I became full-blown Anglophile like 20 years ago. They still reran it by then but the heyday was over I guess until they aired the 2001 comeback season. But of course I saw the ads all the time when watching MST.
Anyone remember the Kato Kaelin parody of "Day-O"?
Another movie that turned up a lot on CC was Rock 'n' Roll High School....Forever. Yes the sequel with Corey Feldman.
One nightmare in the mid 90s was the fact that Comedy Central was put on the same channel as NJN (our state's PBS station) for a time. Since the cable company was slow in switching channels (sometimes painfully so), the first segment or more of the midnight MST3K showing would get cut off when I tried to tape them while they still aired NJN's test pattern. I'd also get accustomed to this song as such:

Of course I couldnt, and this is how i discovered the concept of "in-name-only sequels".

Closest I can think of was: 1) They mention the school being burned down. 2) The villain is played by the same actress.

Also, the host was a young Marc Maron (of GLOW fame).

I think early CC carried Rhoda reruns at one point, no? Also the old Michael Keaton sitcom Working Stiffs.
EDIT: I just did a Google and a YouTube search. STILL no sight of the Kato "Day-O" song.

There's this movie they used to show on comedy Central in the early 90s. My brother and I for the life of us cant remember the title. I only remember some of the story of the movie: A soul detective has been chasing a succubus who steals the souls of men she has sex with. Every certain number of years she jumps bodies so the guy has to chase her (he had also had sex with the succubus, so she wants revenge for him leaving her). Surprisingly enough that movie is an 80s sex comedy. Lol I think that movie is Girlfriend from Hell

Not nearly that early but a few years later when I was a shut in from a divided family with no friends. Comedy Central and I believe TBS were my only friends. I watched snl religiously, Kids in the Hall, comedy central presents. I want to say Duckman at like midnight but that may have been the wrong channel. On the TBS side, saved by the bell and California Dreams syndication. I'd swear Duckman was on USA, but the rest sounds about like my normal viewings (minus California Dreams). AbsFab and Soap were nice additions to my viewing patterns as well.

You don't know how much I miss early Comedy Central (and Comedy Central throughout the 90s). I loved Short Attention Span Theater, The Higgins Boys and Gruber (they showed Supercar and Lancelot Link), SNL, Monty Python, The Kids in the Hall, Benny Hill, Whose Line Is It Anway, Mystery Science Theater 3000, and all those weird original sketch shows (I liked The Vacant Lot...a lot).
Comedy Central is just terrible now. All it shows are The Office and South Park (yuck) reruns all day. I wish they would at least show SNL and/or Monty Python reruns during the day again. Also, I wish they would show more stand up again.

One thing I remember is that when one of the networks that became CC launched on April Fools Day 1990. Nickelodeon aired promotions for the network and on April Fools Day night in 1990, Nickelodeon (yes, that Nickelodeon) aired a four hour preview of the channel from 7P Eastern until 11. It must have been a last minute decision because the preview wasn't mentioned in my local TV guide (It might have been mentioned in TV Guide magazine).
I am sure that all those parents who let their kids watch Nick at 7p, loved the fact that Nick was showing a show that wasn't made for kids at that time. Funny thing is that my cable system up in NJ preempted Nick at Nite so the preview in my area lasted for only an hour.

I seem to remember watching this channel all that day before WM VI started, which was a twist from our usual tradition of watching previous WMs before the new event.
