Nope.
The only system I ever saw available to rent was the Neo-Geo, and no way in hell was I getting my father to shell out for that.
Now, I did trade my SNES for somebody's Sega CD for about 12 months.
Was more worth it than you might think.

Kind of. Do the Sega 32X and Sega CD count as 'consoles,' or should be be classified as 'add-ons for a console?' I rented both devices once, on separate occasions.
How were those experiences, you may ask?
I was floored to finally play Doom in the comfort of my own home on the 32X, but I also remember having a killer time playing Road Rash on the Sega CD. To this day, I still consider the Sega CD port of Road Rash to be the best one because of the simple fact that it is the ONLY port to feature the game's rockin' soundtrack during the in-game action.
My dad also rented an NES when our family's NES was in for repairs. I don't know why he didn't just rent a SNES or some other console so we'd have new exclusive games to play.

Also, did it cost more money to rent a Neo-Geo than a Genesis, NES, or Turbografx-16? The console and its games were obviously a hell of a lot more expensive to own, but I never knew of anyone renting those things or the rates they'd have to pay to do so.

For one of my birthdays, we rented an NES with Bubble Bobble and Legend of Zelda from our local grocery store. I swear it made you feel like you some sort of secret agent smuggling the secret formula, carrying around the aluminum case the console was in, and the fact it was padlocked before being handed over made it that much more nefarious.

Back when Blockbuster Video was still a thing, I rented a PS1 a couple of times. Didn't come with a memory card, though, so I had no ability to save my games. Which was kinda crappy because one of the games I rented along with it was FF7.

I rented a PS1 from Blockbuster with Battle Arena Toshinden before I got one definitely for my birthday a few months later. It was a pretty clunky fighter looking back, but I didn’t care because I was experiencing the hot new tech.

I tried to rent a dreamcast at blockbuster but they were wanting a two hundred dollar deposit for it and I just decided to rent one of the twisted metal games instead only to find out the game wasn't in the case. Looking back, that was a generally rude blockbuster

Rented a SNES a few times. Did my first real speed run on Super Metroid that way. Usually I am a completionist and never finish games quickly, but I gave it a shot. I also rested to play SimEarth and Dakken. I should have gotten Dakken for myself. It seemed fun when I rented it.

No, rented a couple of VCRs, but no gaming systems. The same.
I never saw a place where you could rent a game system, but plenty of VCR rental spots.

I once rented a 3DO and a few games from a (long defunct, obviously) local video rental place. I remember being really unimpressed with it and glad I had a NES, SNES and Genesis. Oh, and I also rented a Virtual Boy (with Mario Tennis and probably one other game) from Blockbuster Video in 1995. I remember thinking "Boy, I'm glad I rented this instead of spending money to buy it- this is awful!". 3DO. Man, that’s a deep cut. Although the Aliens V Predator game they had looked incredible in mags. I think you mean the Atari Jaguar; AVP never came out for 3DO.

Yeah, we rented a PS1 and of course we only got wrestling games: In Your House, WrestleMania and WCW vs The World. I am so, so sorry. Hey! I liked WCW vs. The World

There was a time when renting a VCR and a couple of Disney movies (which were all only available for rent) was a real treat.
