I want to gain weight and put on some muscle so I bought a 3lbs bottle of whey protein. I just want to know the best time to take it how effective it is. Thanks.

I used to use protein shakes...generally just follow the directions on the package and you'll be fine. I personally found the best way to put on weight for me was just going to town on eating red meat.

Ive gone back and forth between Cytogainer and Muscle Milk. I generally drink them twice a day, Mon-Fri. (once in the morning and again at night after I work out) however they say 3 times a day, but I don't think it makes a huge difference, plus I can't handle that taste 3 times a day.
I could really tell a difference when there were periods where I stopped using them for a while. I couldnt really tell that much until I would stop for a while and then I would say, who it was really working, and get back on it.
What you want to do, is make sure you are doing some cardio and stuff like that while you take it. Because otherwise, you will still put on muscle BUT it will also go right to your gut if your not working that area enough.

I have a protein shake for breakfast and a protein bar for lunch every day(along with fruits and veggies) it allows me to eat whatever I want for dinner, and along with working out 6 days a week, has helped me lose 25 pounds in the last 3 plus weeks

Protein shakes aren't miracle workers, it takes hard work too. Don't expect to be 160 in 2 months.
It really depends on what kind've protein shake your on cause they vary greatly. I'm on Whey Protein, which i take after breakfast, after dinner 7 days a week. I'm also on a form of Cretine that i take immediately after a workout (this helps a HELL of a lot if your just starting to work out, or working out 6-7 days a week)
