They showed an anti-drinking video at a HS I do some work in. Well when The Fonz showed on screen, dude got at 30 second standing ovation. I didn't think the kids would know who he is.

I didn't think the kids would know who he is. Everyone knows who the Fonz is. Trust me this generation hasn't forgotten. Now if they showed Chuck Norris or Mr. T, the pop would have been deafening.

Chuck Norris wouldn't be allowed in schools, since he claims he gets all his powers from the Jesus.
Personally, I think he just realized that he really isn't at all impressive, and that Harley Race would absolutely destroy him. The Jesus just becomes a scapegoat then.

I'd be surprised to. Fonz is an icon, but a bunch of MTV watching teenagers knowing who he is in 2006 is quite amazing.
It's a shame TV will never have those breakout larger than life characters again. Fonz, Bunker, Bundy.......what's there now? Hell, we won't even see another Urkel again.
