Wow that had a lot on it's mind for a horror film.
Really enjoyed it.

Haven't watched it yet but am going to.
Without spoilers, is this a sequel to the old ones or a straight up remake?
Just want to know what frame of mind to go in with.

Just want to know what frame of mind to go in with. it's a direct sequel to the first one. it doesn't explicitly remove the other 2 from canon like the last Halloween movie did, but it doesn't reference them at all and they wouldn't have any bearing on the plot anyway. it HEAVILY references the first one though.

This is a film that's really growing on me.
The scenes where they shoot the skyscrapers upside down with their tops in the clouds are really eerie. Wouldn't even call it a special effect but the atmosphere it creates is remarkable.

Might be a while before I can see it, so how much of the original movie's soundtrack do they use? Honestly on my list as one of the greatest movie OST's I've ever heard.

They really borrow from Helen's theme a lot

That I wasn't really paying attention to but I did recognize a couple tunes here and there for certain

That was really good. Highly recommend y'all taking a look.
When I was leaving theater, got in elevator. The door was reflective&someone had carved a pentagram above the buttons. Hit the button and elevator didn't move for a good ten seconds. So that was creepy haha.

Saw it and overall enjoyed it but it wasn’t as good as the original (though that’s obviously a high bar).

I saw it in an early screening last Tuesday. It was good. I think there was a LOT they were trying to accomplish and the third act of the movie got a little muddled, but I really liked it. I think there's probably 10-15 minutes of footage on the cutting room floor, though, some of it seemed choppy.

Just saw it today. Very good movie, although suffered from a rather abrupt ending and could have done with an extra few minutes to help flesh things out a bit more. Other than that, really enjoyable and well worth watching.

I just saw this today myself
I loved the first one when I was too young for it. To this day I won’t say candyman in a mirror, I don’t care how illogical that is lol
I’m still trying to decide how I feel about the changes to the mythos. I thought they were interesting but I think the film might have been a little too unsubtle with its point
Also it wasn’t scary at all like not even jump scares I thought apart from the elevator scene and there seemed to not be a lot of focus on the Candyman character tbh
This might seem like I didn’t like it, but I kinda did. Maybe a 6 out of 10? Acting was great I thought
