The show is apparently up now. Lots of early reviews are saying that it’s a blast. Hopefully will check it out soon. I’m enjoying it so far, but I have no familiarity with the source material. I'm damned curious what you think of the show without having a bit of knowledge about the comic. If you return to this thread just yelling "WTF!" a lot, then we'll know these showrunners nailed it.

Yea, I expect a lot of that moving forward because it is going to be funny seeing people react to the crazy shit

The acting in this was phenomenal. Homelander in particular just came across like a person that could just f***ing explode at any point, and Karl Urban was perfect. Very cool to see Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid’s son in a prominent role as well.
Really my only issue was that I felt like we didn’t spend enough time with The Seven. I still don’t know what Black Noir’s deal is at this point, having finished all eight episodes. Or is that how it is in the comics as well?
Probably my favorite stuff of the entire season were The Deep’s ill-fated attempts at saving marine life.
All-in-all I had a roaring good time and I’m stoked they’ve already started shooting the next season.

Very interested to see how faithful they’ll be to it.

I'm three episodes in and am VERY much enjoying it. I wish I had more time this weekend to finish it, but I also know I'm going to be very sad when the season is over.

As a huge comic book dude I'm ashamed to admit I've never read The Boys but holy crap this series is bonkers as hell. Urban is a blast in this show!Just finished episode 6.

First couple episodes have been excellent.
I was wondering if it was just me or if Anthony Starr seemed like he couldn’t have been less interested in the series at first, but then his performance kind of clicked for me. Could be an Emmy dark horse.

On episode 3. The changes so far aren't bad. Urban is great as Billy.Shue is a great Stillwell. For years I was dreading any Ennis comics being made into tv shows. Expecting them to be so watered down. But now Preacher and The Boys have been great.

HUGE SPOILERS DONT KNOW HOW TO HIDE DONT READ IF STILL WATCHING {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}
Finished it today. Like a lot of the changes they made, but I’m not sold on the angle of Rebecca Butcher still being alive, nor the implication maybe things with The Homelander were consensual. Makes Butcher less of a revenge driven hardass and more just a bitter guy who can’t let go of a relationship that didn’t work out.
On the whole though, excellent show and I’m very excited to see where they take it. Of the recent television comic adaptations, this was far and away the best. If you know a spoiler should be hidden, and you don't know how to do that, do not just post anyway. Don't do that.
Also, spoiler button is the last emoji on the bar. - Madison

Finished the season over the weekend, while there was some good stuff there, I was a bit disappointed.
Of course, this is mainly due to the comic being unfilmable, but it came across as a rated PG... well, Rated R version of an NC 17 source. (Not just the sex, the show was significantly toned down from the source, some good some bad.)
If nothing else, would have been better if The Boys had their comic powers.
But there is potential, and am intrigued in where they go for the next season.

So I came in not expecting to enjoy this, but it was pretty well written I felt. Anthony Starr as Homelander kinda steals many episodes, he’s vile but extremely compelling.
