15 years ago tonight the Brock Lesnar vs. Kurt Angle Iron Man Match aired on Smackdown!
How do you feel about the match? What do you remember about your first time watching it?

I was 10 and I remember thinking the metal graphics were cool, but I'm pretty sure I got really upset Brock won.

I was a huge Brock fan and was ecstatic that he won. I still think it's one of the best Iron Man matches and the last good one I've seen.

Great match it also gave my friend and I an inside joke for years
We would start making really obvious observations at length about things that happened 30 minutes ago. "oh! Now I understand why you got the large value meal, you wanted extra onion rings! I wasnt sure why you gave up some coins".
Anyone who doesnt get it, brock sacrifices a point by bashing angle with a chair. Half the match goes by and then Tazz on commentary spends a good couple minutes with a dissertation on his epiphany that losing 1 pt to ultimately injure angle was good strategy.

Reminds me of that King of the Ring where JR and Paul Heyman can't fathom why Shane McMahon helps Kurt Angle advance in the tournament before their match. They're actually dumbfounded.

The best iron man match out there. And there are very few good, let alone great ones.

It's been ages since I've watched the match. What is the chair spot people are talking about?

One of my favorite Iron Man matches that ever happened, second only to Shawn Michaels vs Kurt Angle.

Probably the best hour long Iron Man match I've seen, but that doesn't say much because I think it's an inherently worthless gimmick.
Is probably the one that had the most logical use of the idea of it though.

No worries, it's just funny because that match was kind of the anti-iron man match. Everyone expected it to be quick with a f*** finish, but only went an hour because Nick Dinsmore did too much coke and Randy Orton took the blame for it

It was on the same time England played Australia in the world cup rugby finals. I remember flicking back and forth between the two. My favourite wrestling memory

Great match. Smackdown was the best from the moment Eddie defected to SD and Brook won the title in 2002 to the moment JBL won the belt in 2004. That was two years of incredible stuff. Even Al Wilson couldn't drag that down. The SD six, Noble, Tajiri, Matt Hardy V1. Amazing.
