It's a halfway decent movie hidden under so much product placement and advertising for the WB library that it's hard to get fully invested in it.

Ok movie that felt like it was 100% designed by a focus group that consisted of whomever was willing to pay for product placement and LeBron's PR Team. It's about as soulless of a movie I've ever seen but yet somehow it manages to not be terrible.

Fairly sad my theory of the ending/credits scene didn’t come to pass. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}I mean MJ showing up in a credits scene to challenge LeBron to a 1 on 1 friendly match and Bugs throws the ball in the air before we cut to black. Did MJ just want no part of this? Did they waste so much money on special effects to score a cameo? I can’t be too mad that they crammed a bunch of their library characters in since I enjoyed Wreck-It Ralph 2 and they did the same thing...but this just comes off as a huge advertisement for the HBO Max library than a real homage to the OG Space Jam. I hope at least we got an iconic soundtrack with this one too. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}So they did the Rocky III ending?

I did have to turn it off during the character introductions.
I do kind of admire the shamelessness but, you know, I've already bought HBO Max so, why are you advertising all of the stuff on the service?

I like to address the elephant in the room, a certain missing Looney Tune character who in recent years has been very controversial. That is right, I am talking about Bosco. Where is Bosco? He is the first Looney Tunes star, would Disney make a similar movie like this without Mickey? On the bright side {Spoiler}We did have a Michael Jordan cameo. He give a pep talk at half time, awesome. Though he looks different.

My nephews liked it okay. To me the fun was seeing who was who in the crowd. Biggest cameo/reference mark out to me was.... {Spoiler}The Bugs Bunny Gameboy* game. But only cause it brings the AVGN episodes to mind.
* ORIGINAL GAMEBOY WAS DONE BY 1998!!!

Didn't like it. Lebron wasn't bad, but the story was kind of lame and the looney tunes felt like one big cameo rather then essential characters to the story.

Was pretty meh but as a free watch at a friend's it was ok. The Mad Max joke got a laugh out of me at least.
The background cameos were weird in that they looked like off-brand versions of themselves on a lot of them. Was strange since they owned the IPs for say the Mask to look more like a Party City version.

so Warner Bros created an algorithm to come up with movie ideas, and the best it could come up with was ripping off 30 Rock's SeinfeldVision? maybe Zack Snyder wasn't the problem with the DCEU... {Spoiler}...nah, he was still a huge problem

I do kind of admire the shamelessness but, you know, I've already bought HBO Max so, why are you advertising all of the stuff on the service? i would admire the shameless more if they were a lot less shameless about it {Spoiler}{Spoiler}during the pitch meeting they put LeBron into Harry Potter and Game of Thrones (as well as Batman), when he sees the server he makes a Matrix reference, and when he gets sucked in Al G Rythm copies The Wizard of Oz. then Al sends LeBron down to Tune World, and he goes by Harry Potter World, Game of Thrones World, Matrix World and Wizard of Oz World (as well as Casablanca World). and a few minutes later he Bugs are flying to all the different world, and LeBron marks out about seeing Harry Potter World
i'm 45 minutes into and the first world they went to was DC World to get Daffy and Porky, then they went to a bunch of other worlds (including the aforementioned Game of Thrones, Matrix and Casablanca Worlds), and now they're in a DC comic trying to get Lola. is the Warner Bros library so poor they have to keep referencing the same six properties cause that's all anyone knows? because that's the message i'm getting from them
also this whole road trip to reunite the Looney Tunes is really coming across as a ripoff of the 2011 Muppets movie
EDIT: okay, they get a point for Granny's "Chappelle's Show" reference

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I know the Austin Powers stuff is archive footage, but this is the closest Mike Myers has been to the big screen in years. Hopefully it means interest can be drummed up in an Austin Powers 4

Haven't seen it yet, but according to my brother, it's basically Ralph Wrecks the Internet, in that it feels like the plot is only there for the sake of Disney/WB being able to scream "HEY, LOOK AT ALL THIS GREAT STUFF WE OWN! DON'T YOU WANT TO PAY US MONEY SO YOU CAN SEE ALL THIS GREAT STUFF!?!?"
Is that fairly accurate?

EDIT: okay, they get a point for Granny's "Chappelle's Show" reference {Spoiler}The library is a lot larger but when you're dealing with empty suits, trying to convince them to spend time looking at, for example, deep cut Cartoon Network shows or stuff you've made for, say, TNT will result in them looking at you funny. It's all about references.

DON'T YOU WANT TO PAY US MONEY SO YOU CAN SEE ALL THIS GREAT STUFF!?!?" Is that fairly accurate? I'd say it's more of a cross between The Emoji Movie (shameless product placement) and Ready Player One (random pop culture references), with a good amount of cribbing from the 2011 Muppets movie (no one cares about the Looney Tunes anymore and they've all gone their separate ways, so Bugs hijacks LeBron's basketball game as a way to bring them all back together). with Ralph Breaks the Internet, while they did shoehorn in a lot of Disney references (particularly the Princesses), it was generally limited to one big segment, poked fun at some of their tropes, and helped further the plot. this on the other hand had a random Rick & Morty cameo that comes from out of nowhere, Pennywise and the White Walkers watching a basketball game together, and one of the biggest jokes being King Kong's reaction to Don Cheadle saying "King Kong ain't got nothing on me" the setup for the movie is a algorithm/AI gets upset when people hate his movie ideas, and the plot of the movie really does seem like an AI cobbled this together by accessing random bits of Waner Bros scripts on the plus side, Cheadle does comes across like he's having a lot of fun doing the movie

I actually had no interest in seeing this, but all the talk about what shameless advertising it is sounds similar to Josie and the Pussycats.
Now I'm literally gonna fire up the bong and watch it right now.
Edit: I did in fact attempt this. The movie started slow, but did get mildly funny and entertaining for a bit. After about 45 minutes or so I had seen enough though and went back to my Star Trek and Shameless binges.
