{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I know the Austin Powers stuff is archive footage, but this is the closest Mike Myers has been to the big screen in years. Hopefully it means interest can be drummed up in an Austin Powers 4 {Spoiler}Naaaaaaah. Although, it HAS been 17 years, so maybe the jokes and catchphrases they repeated in the sequels will seem fresh now.

Well, in another case of "I don't know what the f*** was expected", I liked it. Maybe this is just me, but product placement honestly doesn't bother me as long as there's a point to it, and for me, it worked fine here. It's a silly movie that pokes fun at WB's laundry list of franchises and I thought the story was pretty creative for what it was.
I dunno, if it's not your thing, it's not your thing. But I've seen reviews calling Space Jam 2 "an abomination" and going on about commercial politics in movies and like, it's a Looney Tunes movie; it's not that serious.

Naturally the same people who hated and trashed it are celebrating over it winning the box office against Black Widow

I liked it well enough. Better than I expected for sure. {Spoiler}Best part was hands down Michael B Jordan’s appearance. Great use of him. Still would have liked an MJ cameo, but I liked how Lebron looked suuuuper stoked at the prospect of him playing.

Not bad, not as good as the first one, could have used more of the Tunes antics (the training scene was freaking funny) and LeBron's a better actor than Michael. {Spoiler}The best part was without a doubt Michael B Jordan's cameo. And that he said "Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose", they gave him the FNL shoutout. That was fitting for him to say at a sporting event, go Vince, the Lions were better than the Panters.

Not gonna lie, felt like it was an overall better movie (in terms of emotional investment) than the first one but that's not really saying much, lmao.

Have The Asylum released "Spaced Jam 2, Space Jammed 2, or Spiced Jam 2" yet?

I for one am floored that LeBron James, who is not at all a shameless corporate shill, would be involved in a movie with the most egregious and over-the-top product placement since "Mac & Me." Stunned, I tell you.

Nostalgia goggles are a hell of a thing. In fact, I think both Space Jam movies are about even with each other in terms of critical consensus.

At this juncture it's really pointless to complain about the film's over abundance of product placement, when the entire concept of Space Jam was born out of a Nike commercial.

One thing Space Jam had over Space Jam 2 is probably the basketball game being more simple.

At this juncture it's really pointless to complain about the film's over abundance of product placement, when the entire concept of Space Jam was born out of a Nike commercial. Space Jams' concept may have come from a Nike commercial, but the movie itself wasn't a 90 minute Nike commercial. when the Looney Tunes are getting killed at halftime, Bugs doesn't trick them into playing better by saying Michael Jordan's secret to success is his new Nike shoes Space Jam 2 on the other hand is a 2 hour commercial for HBO Max, which is made all the more obvious with their weird choices of what properties to focus on. the movie itself is targeted at kids, but the background characters featured most prominently during the basketball game that takes up half the movie are from Game of Thrones and It, neither of which are kid-friendly and targeted squarely at their parents

Currently half way through it and it's not a bad film so far {Spoiler}I'm up to the 'recruitment' stage of the film where all the Tunes are stil in 2-D, haven't gotten to the all-out CGI game yet. The product placement is quite insistent though I mean, multiple Harry Potter and Game of Thrones plugs within the span of an hour...we get it
The trip to DC World was great, the train's passengers were DCAU Lois, Alfred, and the 'sane' Doctor Harleen Quinzel, looks like I was also wrong about Porky being the 'Lex' to Daffy's 'Superduck', more his Jimmy Olsen.
