I've always wondered this, how much technology does Equestria actually have? I mean, I think we've seen computers, and we've seen phones and cameras as well, ditto movies and recorded music (including techno) but no cars or planes (not really neccesary to be honest) or televisions.

So, does this mean that they're retconning things so Twilight knew the rest of the Mane 6 when they were foals? Guess we'll have to wait till the comic comes out to see what happens.

While at first, I found the idea preposterous, after thinking about it for a while, it does kinda work.
While some of the mane six have had a connection since foalhood (Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash being the most obvious), should this new adventure involve Twilight meeting some of them in the time between the flashback events of "The Cutie Mark Chronicles" and "Friendship Is Magic", it could make sense if she does not remember anything about that. I mean, I don't remember all the acquaintances I made in my childhood and would probably not know any of them when meeting them again now.
But let's read :)and see where it goes.
