Just wondering, is this a show a "non huge" Star Wars fan can get into and follow? Like the last SW movie I saw was "Attack if the Clones", so I am so behind.

Ming-Na Wen is indeed still a hottie. She's an immortal. 800 years from now, she'll still be around and looking exactly the same. Not exactly the same, she keeps getting hotter.

So far you don't really need to know anything about the wider Star Wars lore; you'll get more out of it if you do, but it's perfectly easy to follow even if you've not seen a Star Wars movie.

No love for Amy Sedaris's brief role?

No love for Amy Sedaris's brief role? She was great. Funny. Came off authentic and added some empathetic and heartwarming flavor to the episode. Now get her brother David on it just because I love his books.

I watched it with my girlfriend who is a very limited Star Wars fan and she's loved it. I have explained a couple of things to her but they really weren't necessary, just to give her a little more context.

I knew his voice but couldn't figure out who was in the helmet. Pascal was awesome in GoT. If I was told that was Pedro Pascal I wouldn't believe it. He's really ironed out his accent for the role. I'm still amazed that Werner freakin' Herzog is in a Star Wars production. This IS his accent. While born in Chile, he lived in The States from an early age and considers English his first language.

Echoing the others, yeah, you can go into this without being some sort of superfan.
The bit with Tatooine's true locals warms the heart. It's not anything we haven't seen a bit of in EU/Legends stuff, but it's good to finally have some canon showing that while they can be capable of some truly terrible acts, they're not mindless or anything.

That would explain it then, I've only seen him in two other things and he has had an accent in those.

No love for Amy Sedaris's brief role? I didn't realize it was her until I recognized her voice towards the end.

Yeah, you're expecting a shootout or action sequence or something and instead it turns into a sign-language negotiation Great stuff

That moment when you realize the Sand People beat the shit out of Luke in A New Hope because he didn't fork over his binoculars

GoT was the second thing I saw him in after The Great Wall, and he uses the same accent in that, so I made the mistake of taking that as confirmation he spoke with an accent. YouTubing interviews and clips from other things he's been in where he talks in his regular accent is a little jarring, a bit like when you hear Christian Bale's real cockney accent or Liam Neeson's Irish brogue.

I’d only heard the cat in Kingsman: The Golden Circle. He’s got some range.

Especially because of the accent, I'm waiting for Twitter to explode when he finally takes the helmet off.
"ZOMG ITS OBERYN!!!!! I HAD NO IDEA!!!!!"
Like, just look up the dude's name, Kyle.

I love how they use something called virtual stages for this show, which ILM calls "stagecraft". It renders a set in complete 3D virtual reality and cameras can move around it and it's like the set is really there as opposed to just a single projected image. There's parallax there. It could be a real game-changer for CGI since it allows the actors to interact with a backdrop as if it's really there as opposed to relying entirely on green screens.

Another piece of the series I love - it visually fits with the original trilogy so perfectly and does it better than most media produced since then. And it does that while still looking amazing.
