Second week in a row they used creatures conceptualized during A New Hope. Last week the Crate Dragon, this week the spiders (though original concept art shows them on a different planet). I hope we get more of that

No more giant spiders in Star Wars.
Actually, no more giant spiders in anything!

I was hoping that it was going to be the snow monster or something that attacked Luke in ESB but what we got was SO. MUCH. FREAKING. WORSE.
All and all, a major step down from the premiere but it was serviceable. The payoff in the opening had me howling though.

A definite step down from last week's episode, but given how high that bar was there's no shame in that.

Yeah, there was no way in trying to reach those highs without trying to force it but it was still a fun episode regardless. The Madalorian is best when it’s building to something long term, though, so no fuss from me there.

Is it me or does each episode this season seem to be evoking the theme of certain thriller/horror movies?
The first was definitely Tremors in Space, and today's episode was most likely a nod to Alien (although an argument could be made for The Thing)
Also, I'm surprised they just referred to the Frog Lady as simply the Frog Lady (one of the rare times, aside from human, that a typical Earth species exists in Star Wars canon)
Also, chalk up Frog Lady to being another species in this series with an unknown genus/type.

The guy who played the other X-Wing pilot who wasn’t Dave Filoni is Paul Sun-Hyun Lee, the star of the popular Canadian sitcom Kim’s Convenience.

Good episode, but after last weeks giant monster episode, it felt a bit repetitive and didnt do much to move the story, world or charcters along.
Still fun thiugh. The spider was well designed

I thought it was a good episode but I’m prepared for the next three or four episodes to be filler episodes

I thought baby Yoda eating the eggs was going to be related to his force-powers somehow, like there was some secret thing he was doing to protect them. Turns out he was just being a dick.

I really want someone to cut together a horror movie trailer of Frog Lady and her eggs being stalked by Baby Yoda.

Yeah I thought the mom and most of the eggs were going to get destroyed and in the end when they reached the father on the planet he was going to regurgitate one and give it to him, which still could happen.

Sure, the first time was funny, but after all the warnings from Din, and especially after frog lady saves him from the spiders, he still eats the damn eggs. I hope there's a payoff later on, but if not, it'll just sour me on the kid.
