Baby Yodas name is the same as the ending to Mass Effect 3; it had to happen even though it was destined to upset a majority of the fans Man, you really came there with the abridged version of my point, didn’t you? Appreciate it, for the record.

Baby Yodas name is the same as the ending to Mass Effect 3; it had to happen even though it was destined to upset a majority of the fans I haven't seen a massive backlash to it. Every messageboard has comments about it but the majority reaction seems to be "Eh, lots of goofy names in Star Wars" and most people that don't like it are just gonna keep calling him Baby Yoda. Hell I call him "The Yode", this is no skin off my back. I will say it was a VERY smart move to just casually drop it into an episode so jampacked with goodness that even fans that didn't like it would be like "AHSOKA! THRAWN!!!! Grogu, that's..ok, fine. BEST EPISODE EVER!!!!" If they had done the whole "THIS is the episode where you find out Baby Yoda's real name!!!" schtick, it probably would've been a much bigger fart.

Also remember “The Empire Strikes Back” had two twists... One of them being that strange eccentric creature that Luke encounters while searching for a Jedi Master on swamp planet turned out to be the Jedi Master he was looking for, and Yoda was testing him. The twist that came later probably probably took the focus off the first one. But can you imagine the reaction from the fandom (if they had one at that stage) to that.. “that Grover sounding muppet is a Jedi Master...WTF!?” .. yeah I know WTF was not a thing in 1980. Just saying it won’t take long for people to get used to Grogu. Just wait a few weeks until something else gets their gander up.

Easily the best episode since the season opener. I loved all the callbacks in this episode in regards to the Jedi, especially as to Ahsoka's reasoning why she couldn't take Grogu. If she does get her own series, I'll definitely check that out too. Everyone was talking up Ashoka big time but I knew nothing about her since I've only seen the movies. She came off pretty cool in the episode and in general I thought the episode itself was great. This is probably my favourite tv show going right now. Due to this being so good, and everyone seemingly loving Ashoka and the fact there are characters like Bo Katan being introduced I've decided go and check out Clone Wars. So much to get through and then there is Rebels too. Wish me luck I recommend watching Clone Wars in chronological order. It makes things a lot easier to follow. I wish I knew this before I started. I'm only through the first season though, so I'll probably just catch up before I start the next one.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}So, with Thrawn back in the picture, does that mean that what was true about the Imperial Remanent in Legends is true for the new canon?
In Legends, the Remanent weren't just one faction. It was several warring factions vying for control of what remained of the Galactic Empire. You had about 50 different Moffs, Grand Moffs, and Grand Admirals fighting each other to be the Emperor's successor. The impression I get from new canon is {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}the Remnant is defeated at the Battle of Jakku, the loss cripples the power of the Empire to the point where factions vanish into the Unknown Regions to recover and rebuild - that results in the First Order.
I wonder if Thrawn, who in Legends was a unification symbol of the Remnant (and whose death/void splintered the others into insufferable in-fighting and civil wars), will now be what unites all those Imperial factions out in the Unknown Regions to inevitably form the First Order.

{Spoiler}It's already canon that Thrawn's knowledge of the Unknown Regions is what allows the Empire to survive and become the First Order, so it wouldn't be a huge shift to go from Thrawn's intel allowing them to do so to Thrawn directly leading them.

Blue mentioned to Cara that something was happening on the Outer Rim, the core worlds didn't want to believe it, but what he's been responding to aren't isolated incidents. And with Ahsoka looking for Thrawn, he's building it up. We are witnessing the birth of the First Order.

How much better would they have been if they'd been built on foundations laid by Favreau and Filoni rather than have J.J. pull shit out of his ass?

Well the episode title definitely describes what transpired. What a season so far, with only episode 2 not hitting the mark for me.

Holy shit. I f***ing love this show. Hey, Disney, you know those three release slots you've got after Benioff and Weiss bailed? Throw them Favreau and Filoni's and let them go nuts. {Spoiler}Also, I could watch Grogu going full Vader on Stormtroopers all day long.

I remember telling one of my friends last week that while last week's was a good episode, I feel like I would have lost my mind if I was more into the expanded universe with Ahsoka, etc.
I lost my mind this week. Holy shit.

Great episode. Can't believe there are only two more. {Spoiler}
So is Fennec a cyborg or is she still mostly human with just a few metal parts?
Boba Fett's put on some weight and lost a step, but the armor still fits him better than Cobb Vanth.
Wonder if they'll explain how Fett got out of the Sarlacc, or if we're sticking to the original story.
Also, where did he find Slave 1? Was it still parked at Jabba's Palace?
