That was probably one of the best, if not the best, episode to date. {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}We learn more about the Child, or Grogu. We learn about his personality, his backstory, and so forth.
Ahsoka showing up finally was amazing.
So Beskar metal can withstand a lightsaber? Interesting to know.
Got a lot of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon vibes from the final duel.
Those prisoner pods gave off a bit of a crucifixion vibe to them.

Pretty much on-the-nose. When he entered the encampment in this episode and walked to that family saying “I need some information”, I thought “holy shit, that feels straight out of a video game”. Someone said last season that it felt like a Telltale game. "You speak terrible Jawa. You sound like a wookie." Negotiate calmly with the Jawas. >Threaten the Jawas. "You understand THIS?" *shoots flamethrower*" I mentioned Skyrim earlier, but his entire first meeting with Ashoka came right out of a D&D session: "Roll perception" "Crap, Nat 1" "You're blindsided as a figure with two glowing swords attacks you, roll initative." *later* "I try to convince the woman I'm here to help. I tell her Bo Katan sent me." "Roll persuasion with advantage." "Nat 20" "The woman lowers her guard. and looks willing to listen."

Beskar steel resisting lightsabers, jetpacks to counter Force jumps, the rapid, multi fire darts to counter Force speed, etc. Wouldn't be surprised if the helmets have some Magneto like way of countering the Mind Trick and whatnot.

I honestly thought that was Michael Keaton until I saw the credits.

Everyone was talking up Ashoka big time but I knew nothing about her since I've only seen the movies. She came off pretty cool in the episode and in general I thought the episode itself was great. This is probably my favourite tv show going right now. Due to this being so good, and everyone seemingly loving Ashoka and the fact there are characters like Bo Katan being introduced I've decided go and check out Clone Wars. So much to get through and then there is Rebels too. Wish me luck

Another really good episode---this is a great show. I don't think there's been a dud episode yet. I love the Star Wars universe, so the fact this takes us to so many different locations we haven't seen--even if it's a different part of a planet we know about like Tatooine, is really cool
I'd love an episode on Corruscant. The seedy underbelly wasn't really explored in the movies--other than a couple of glimpses.
In fact, Disney should jsut do a travel show set in the Star Wars universe. Rip off the Top Gear/Grand Tour challenges--- this week three idiots are going to choose a speeder for less than 1,000 credits and try and cross the Dune Sea.

Are we really going to die on the hill that Grogu is a bad name in a franchise where Darth Vader was called Annie by his girlfriend?

Watched it last night with my son, who thoroughly enjoyed the action and the Grogu cuteness. Rewatched it a few minutes ago by myself, and it may just be one of the better episodes in a show which hasn't had a bad episode yet.
The setting, despite having the lighting and colour grading of a Zack Snyder movie, was creepy and effective.
Dawson brought her A-game and I'm totally on board with her as a slightly world-weary Ahsoka. The scene where she mentally communicates with Grogu is really well done.
I liked the reversal of the "bandit rides into town and gives the mayor/sheriff a day to vacate" trope.
Seeing HK assassin droids in live action is a treat, even if they didn't amount to much.
Always great to see Michael Biehn, just a pity it's a one-and-done.

Are we really going to die on the hill that Grogu is a bad name in a franchise where Darth Vader was called Annie by his girlfriend? I think its just the name being so average it seems anti climatic. Like Comic Book Guys name being revealed as Jeff Albertson. I like it just fine and am also glad its not a Y name.

Like Comic Book Guys name being revealed as Jeff Albertson. I think as someone pointed out, the name was always going to be anti-climatic because it took so long for him to get one. Like, people weren’t calling him “The Child” as is so unless it was going to be a bombastic name, people were going to be grumpy and say “I’m still calling him Baby Yoda” when, like, that’s just a name that doesn’t make him and his species their own characters in the same way, for example, Frieza’s species never really got a name in Dragon Ball Z so if Toei get desperate and have a baby version, everyone would just call it Baby Frieza.

Baby Yodas name is the same as the ending to Mass Effect 3; it had to happen even though it was destined to upset a majority of the fans
