It could have been an overweight guy wearing one of those Luke Skywalker mask cutouts that were on the back of the C-3PO cereal boxes and I’d still have marked out.

I like that they did what they could to have actual Luke there, but they need to either figure out the technology better or recast him if he's gonna be around as a regular. I'm glad they didn't recast him for this reveal, as I think actually seeing his (albeit cgi'd) face helped with the emotional moment of it all. If you watch this in 20 years, though, it's going to age terribly, just like most CGI.

And since he's already under the Disney Umbrella, it would be a no brainer.

I honestly don't see them using Luke often enough to warrant recasting him. Probably the only time we see him again is when Grogu and Mando reunite... and that's assuming Grogu doesn't just leave on his own accord.

Like George did with Yoda in the Phantom Menace.

What they did was the perfect representation of what fans had wanted for 37 years. Maybe let the story carry on in books and comics. But I can die happy. Disney being Disney though they’re going to still recast Brie Lawson into the role somehow.

Kinda; the original Phantom Menace Yoda was a puppet which was replaced in the DVD release with the CGI model from Eps II-III. I can definitely see them touching up the CGI on Luke in the future. Season 2 did have a pretty impressive budget, but it's clear it didn't stretch far enough to get Marvel-like results on Luke.

In a weird way, I could see them fine tuning it for some kind of weird Special Edition of Mando before Book of Boba Fett or something.

Like George did with Yoda in the Phantom Menace. If they routinely doctored it with the current technology, maybe, but that doesn't happen. Phantom Menace was great for the time, but it just doesn't hold up for me. The originals that used puppets and practical effects are much more timeless than the prequels. If Grogu was cgi instead of a puppet, he wouldn't be nearly as adorable.

I’m glad that after the events of the finale they were able to realize how much they actually had in common with one another.

You sicko, you just like him cause you're waiting for Kylo Ren to murder him.

The Haka is pretty intimidating anyway. A Haka performed by a guy in Mandalorian armor? Terrifying.

Grogury St. John is now Grogu’s full canon name, I don’t care with Favereu or Filoni say.
