What movies have you been watching for the last 40 years? The ones that show Luke isn't flawless and capable of having a momentary lapse in judgment when confronted by the possibility his nephew is the personification of evil. What ones have the people arguing against it been watching? What are you arguing? Cause I'm not saying that Luke was flawless. Murdering a droid isn't inherently evil, though.

What ones have the people arguing against it been watching? What are you arguing? Cause I'm not saying that Luke was flawless. Murdering a droid isn't inherently evil, though. I'm arguing that Favreau and Filoni are still beholden to canon, and one of the big pushbacks against Luke's portrayal in TLJ was that Luke would never consider killing Ben, as he's too entrenched in the light. For me it's less of a leap from the Luke that uses an aggressive Force power favoured by characters who are either Dark Side practitioners or have flirted with the Dark Side to the Luke that considers killing a sleeping child in a moment of fear and doubt and later regrets his hubris than it is if the starting point is the Luke who redeemed his father. The other kicker is they used an excerpt from "Jedi Steps" from the sequels rather than one of the more familiar ones from the OT. If we get more Luke from Favreau and Filoni I wouldn't be surprised if we saw more little moments that bridge the gap between the idealised version sections of the fanbase hold dear and the character he is to become.

I can’t remember if Droid Crush was a dark side or a light side power in Knights of the Old Republic? Stun droid was light side. Force Crush was dark side and could be used on both meatbags and droids.

If he doesn't show up on a golden throne being held up by Stormtroopers, then what the hell are we doing?

What ones have the people arguing against it been watching? Momentary lapse of judgement would be Luke trying to fight Vader before being ready, and winding up with his hand cut off. Having a short moment of deciding to murder his own nephew reeks of a russo swerve. He didn't just think about it, he actually lit up his lightsaber and was physical ready to do so. I could buy him being concerned and doubting if he could be trained after sensing the force, but actually having his weapon ready (even for a brief minute)seems like him giving into his feelings to an extremely intense level (the thing Jedi are supposed to be good at suppressing). I can understand small slip ups by Luke but ten seconds of rage mode is out of character. Especially given that he's older and wiser. The whole scene seemed more about needing a reason for Kylo turning to the dark side than about actual good storytelling. Of course Favreau and crew will most likely have to work into the events of the sequels, since they are hand cuffed to them by Disney. One can at least hope they fix the mess Abrams and Johnson created.

So, just a theory, but maybe Luke trains Grogu as his student in the new Jedi order. Grogu turns heel (he has used force choke before, Ahsoka didn't want to train him) and the series ends with him having to be put down, maybe by Din. Luke, having made the mistake of training a powerful force user that turns evil, plus the notion of his own father, maybe feels the same power in Ben that he ignores in Grogu. Thus, why he feels he must put Ben down in that moment.
Maybe way off, doubtful that's what happens, but it's a loose theory anyway.

There is no way in f*** they follow through with the teases of Grogu turning. We’re talking a fan base that nearly turned on him (and the show) for eating the frog eggs

I'll straight up admit I didn't read every page, so I apologize if this has been covered.
Something I've been wondering about is that if Grogu was one of the new Jedi being trained by Luke that Kylo Ren killed. Has this been confirmed/denied?

Hasn't been commented on by anybody in an official position. Obviously lots of theories flying around, but there's 19 years between when Luke took Grogu into his care and when Luke's academy was destroyed, so there's plenty of time in the canon to explore it.

There is no chance they have the character that's become the focus of all the memes, dolls, etc is killed or turns evil.
