Not even 10 minutes in {Spoiler}And I was dying at "They sat me next to a werewolf" and that whole conversation.

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}You'd think Flag would be a little less shocked by this after what they did to June in Suicide Squad 1

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}You'd think Flag would be a little less shocked by this after what they did to June in Suicide Squad 1 {Spoiler}Joel Kinnaman has said they made the decision to make this version of Flag less jaded and more idealistic with a naive streak, a holdover from when this was supposed to be a soft reboot rather than a direct sequel.

This movie is the ultimate definition of a studio giving a director complete control, and I am loving it.

Well, I liked it, mostly. It held my interest, gave me some laughs. Liked the OG a bit more, but yeah this one got a good deal better after the beginning.

Saw the film yesterday.. really liked it.. a bit too long, but a fun time. One thing though {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Suffers from that thing DC comics media have been questioned about forever When Starro is loose and attacking the city, and letting loose little Starro’s to make everyone into zombies… this might be when Superman might want to step in here. I mean he is alive during the events of this film right? The attack got news coverage… {Spoiler}Maybe he’s offworld. And I guess the Justice League were off doing Justice League stuff.

So, is this a sequel to the previous movie or a reboot?

So, is this a sequel to the previous movie or a reboot? Yes. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Wow, was not expecting them to kill off Captain Boomerang so easily.
So what happened to that assistant that actually hit Waller with the gold club? She never shows up again after it happens. Are we to assume the worst?
A bit too gory for my tastes, but otherwise a much much better movie then the first one.

So, is this a sequel to the previous movie or a reboot? It started life as a sequel before being redevloped into soft reboot but redeveloped again into a direct sequel with some slight tweaks and retcons.

Well that was as fun as I expected. What the series should have been all along.

I really liked it. It was obvious they gave Gunn the keys and didn't interfere at all, and that Gunn encouraged guys like Cena to improvise. It all worked. No shock that Viola Davis and Margot Robbie continued to nail their roles. {Spoiler}- For all the laughs and gore, this movie had a lot of heart. Not surprising from the guy that gave us the Guardians movies. The friendship between Flag and Harley was great.
- Believable character growth with Bloodsport petting Sebastian at the end, King Shark defending his friends, and Ratcatcher and Bloodsport protecting each other. The last one just wanted to throw the lightswitch of Diablo seeing the Squad as his family, without showing the steps or any bonding.
- The Squad deciding to disobey Waller and go to fight Starro was a top notch triumphant moment.

I'm usually the first person to find flaws in beloved new movies, but this was absolutely fantastic. It was everything I could ever want in one movie.
My only complaint is the previously mentioned problem of a certain someone not being there at a certain fight. It wouldn't have worked for the movie, but a throwaway line could have fixed it in 5 seconds.

{Spoiler}Is it possible the bit with Waller saying everyone on the Suicide Squad was unique and then immediately introducing Peacemaker the literal exact same way she introduced Bloodsport James Gunn's way of taking the piss at the fact that Idris Elba was originally supposed to be replacing Will Smith as Deadshot before being reworked into Bloodsport, but given the same damn backstory as the "leader" of the Squad in terms of its constituent members and only joining the Squad because Waller was dangling his daughter over him as his reward/"or else" threat?

Hot. Damn. That was AMAZING! I had very low expectations going in. It blew me away.
And my goodness, Margot Robbie is phenomenal. Just phenomenal. Love her.
