{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW}Anyone get the feeling that Gunn really wanted to make a Squirrel Girl movie, and someone told him no? So, he took those ideas and created Ratcatcher 2?
Squirrel Girl beat Thanos, Ratcatcher 2 beat Starro.
{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Ratcatcher was a standout for me, that and her pet rat buddy was insanely adorable. When the Peacemaker spin-off starts, they better finish off their arc together because it’s gonna get buck wild. That.. {Spoiler}part at the end with Bloodsport terrifyingly petting the Rat gave me flashbacks to Drax petting Rocket at the end of GOTG and was the perfect cherry on top to end the film (aside from the the extra cherry-on-cherry-on-top).

I do think it's hilarious that they keep calling her Ratcatcher 2. I don't even think comics do that in continuity, it's such a meta thing.

When it comes to these pandemic releases, I think any shortcomings in tickets sales come with a huge asterisks next to them. The studios are well aware that these films would fare very differently in regular situations. So I'm not doubting too much if we get another Gunn led sequel to Suicide Squad. I at least hope merch sales make up for it. Everybody seems to be quoting this film on social media. At least way more than the snyder crap.

I don't really know how to read the ticket sales thing. COVID is certainly a big part of it, but also the last movie semi in this series was Birds of Prey and that also was well-received but did poorly.

While it did have other issues, it's easy to forget that Birds of Prey was one of the first movies to suffer due to the pandemic.

loved it, really liked the soundtrack too. i've had "People Who Died" by The Jim Carroll Band stuck in my head all night, had to listen to in on the way into work today. also this movie actually made me laugh at John Cena, something WWE and Cena have never been able to make me do so props to them on that.

'Well-received' is pushing it. 79% RT score and 78% audience score isn't well-received?

'Well-received' is pushing it. 79% RT score and 78% audience score isn't well-received? Critics like everything that's female driven regardless of quality and that audience rating is pretty much just the twitter mob. Look past these kinds of sites and it's consistently pasted.

Birds of Prey was a lot of fun. Like even if one had some sort of dislike for it being a bit of DC wants something like Deadpool, Ewan McGregor chewing every bit of scenery was very entertaining.
The critics and certain audiences being apt to love every female centric movie? Guess that Elizabeth Banks Charlie's Angels missed the meeting on that one.

You don't even need to stray out of the DC camp, Wonder Woman 1984 got mauled by critics pretty badly, too. As far as Birds of Prey goes, the only places I've seen it get a "pasting" are those that seek the reinstatement of Zack Snyder as DC Films' creative lead, and those that think idiots like Doomcock, TheQuartering, MechaRandom42, and Matt McGloin actually have anything worthwhile to say.

Jesus, that is certainly an opinion to have. Big ol yikes.
Anyway I loved BoP. Ewan McGregor was ridiculously fun as Black Mask.
Actually, I'd argue it's the second best DCEU movie behind TSS

I know a lot of people that liked Birds of Prey. But they don't listen to misogynistic Youtubers so I guess they don't count as real people now.
