Yankees DFA Ronald Torreyes
A lot of Yankee fans liked him but I never really did. After that blunder in the playoffs a few years ago I was completely done with him

It's an iffy proposition to expect Josh Donaldson to be healthy for an entire season, as he's dealt with calf injuries for the better part of the last two years - missing 129 games since 2017 - but if he can consistently man the hot corner, then the Braves have established an extremely formidable top of the lineup. Ronald Acuna Jr., Ozzie Albies, Freddie Freeman, and Donaldson is arguably the best 1 through 4 hitters in the National League. Now we await how the Phillies respond. They've been linked to virtually every big-name free agent or trade target this off-season, and they'll need to respond to the Braves putting some space between them in the division. Yea, Phillies is in on everybody so they are going to do something but we just don't know yet
Could sign Machado or Harper, trade for Goldie, Sign Corbin or Kimbrel
I expect them to make two big moves this offseason whether it be trade or signings

So there are rumors going around that the Yankees might trade Jacoby Ellsbury for Robinson Cano.
On one hand, it'd be nice to have Cano back, and Ellsbury isn't exactly a player I'd miss. On the other, do they really want to pay for that contract? And we have Torres now, so what are they gonna do, make Cano DH?

Mariners don't really want to do the deal because they don't want to take money back but there is rumblings if he is to be traded Cano would like to go back to NY
Cano would play 1B. That's the position they put him at when he returned from suspension and no doubt Yankees would throw him there

Mets hire Jim Riggleman as their new bench coach.
Joel Sherman says Padres and Reds have interest in Thor. Also mentioned the Rays. Put the odds of a trade at 45 percent.

Think they have to be blown away to make a trade because if you're trading Thor you are giving up a few years of control and should be getting a nice haul back
Same could be said when you dealing DeGrom except won't get a haul but should get a very impressive piece
Either way Mets can't strikeout on either one of those trades

It makes sense that the Padres and Reds would both be in on Noah Syndergaard, as they both have loaded farm systems full of prospects ready to play in Triple-A or the bigs come 2019. Considering Syndergaard's age (26) and contract (arbitration eligible through 2021), you've got to imagine it would take an absolute king's ransom to pry him out of Gotham. But the Padres and Reds have the cache of young talent that could immediately rebuild the Mets' system. The Padres could offer a package including the likes of infielder Fernando Tatis Jr., pitcher Mackenzie Gore, catcher Francisco Mejia, or any of their countless young pitching prospects (Adrian Morejon, Cal Quantrill, Anderson Espinoza to name a few); while Cincinnati could assemble a deal around infielders Nick Senzel and Jonathan India, outfielder Taylor Trammell, or pitchers Hunter Greene or Vladimir Gutierrez. Trading Jacob deGrom, though, likely wouldn't net the same haul as Thor. Even though deGrom is coming off of a Cy Young season in which he was the most dominant pitcher in the sport, he's older (30) and hits free agency one year earlier than Syndergaard. Still, though, if the Mets decide to just go all-in on a rebuild and trade both away, the prospects they acquire could be the core behind a potential Mets dynasty in the mid-2020s.

Mets are apparently getting really aggressive for Cano. Martino speculates that Jay Bruce could be part of the trade for salary reasons and that it would probably be expanded to get Edwin Diaz as well. Was somewhat lukewarm on Cano but getting Edwin Diaz in a deal as well? Yes please.
Martino also states that the Padres won't deal Tatis Jr. for Thor. That should end the talks there.

Padres seem wiiling to make big deals again so that probably be their best bet but if Tatis Jr is off the table than I wouldn't be feeling it. Getting Mejia and pitching prospects is a good alternative though
Also to not go unnoticed Mets still have Wheeler and Matz to be traded too. Matz I can see them keeping but their better off trading Zack while his value is still high

god forbid the mets go out and spend on someone good so that they can keep their talent.
