This confuses me because Canada (at least) has all the non-Deadpool Fox Marvel films Yeah, Australia have all the X-Men and it’s spin off movies (except the Deadpool, Logan and New Mutants) .. all uncut too. Probably the only place in Disney+ you can hear an uncensored F word. |

“Artemis Fowl” is now on Disney+ From the consensus you can probably lump it in with a long string of disappointing live action Walt Disney Studios films. Might give it a curious glance though. Don't bother. It's terrible. It's short, it's boring, it has pointless additions that make it both confusing and an awful adaptation of source material that's pretty straightforward. It also has Josh Gad doing some of the worst narration I've seen in any movie ever. Narration that never ends. It goes on the whole movie and it's so distracting. And he looks like Hagrid.....for no reason whatsoever. Gad’s character also showcases one of the worst CG jobs for a big budget movie (well, the film was meant to be in theatres until Covid-19 hit, so...). |

So Saturday Night, I decided to watch Dumbo (the original, not the live action version) for the first time in forever. I remember liking the movie a bit as a child, except for those goddamn Pink Elephants on Parade. Nightmare fuel at its finest. So I thought I'd watch it again, see if it holds up.
The one part that bothered was the kid taunting and grabbing at Dumbo, causing his mother to go on the RAMPAGE!!
I would think they would get eyewitness accounts, find out that stupid kid was taunting the baby elephant, put two and two together, and then ban that kid for trespassing and causing an elephant to go on a rampage.
But NOPE. Lock up the mother.
Also, punishing Dumbo for the ringmaster's stupid idea crashing down on the circus. Now that I think about it more and more, the ringmaster WAS the villain of this movie. I think when I was younger, I thought of the other elephants as the villains. But now? Yeah, it was the ringmaster. That guy was a dick.
Baby Mine is still heartbreaking, emotionally charged. That was a tough song to get through, especially with the thought of my mother being gone for 12 years now.
I can see why people are getting upset with the crows, but they played an important part of the whole movie. If they would've been cut, it would've made no sense. Plus, "When I see an Elephant Fly" is pretty damn catchy. One of the two catchiest songs of the movie IMHO, the other being Casey Junior's theme. I just saw the crows as being fun, free-spirited characters when I was younger.
So despite all that, it's definitely still a fun little movie. I think I can appreciate it again, despite.....
Oh shit, not you guys again....F***.

Ok, 1) new Kermit voice is terrible. 2) .....and I cannot believe this slipped past "Joe from Legal"....... this trailer uses the same exact music as HBO Max's Looney Tunes trailer. At least with Looney Tunes, the music is related to a classic short. Here, it does not at all.  |

Kermit's voice seems really way off... it hits at points... but it sounds like someone doing a bad impersonation of Kermit... and I generally haven't noticed much difference between the voice actors...

Yes, no crows = no explanation of the magic feather or how Dumbo came to know that he could fly. It's almost like...one could put a disclaimer saying this didn't age well, while NOT denying/altering the past? Naaaaah, that's crazy talk! CANCEL! CANCEL! CANCEL! (Matt Hardy needs a disciple in AEW to do this chant while he does the delete one)
Now, Kermit...this can't be all that bad....

OH MY GOD. IT IS.
Whoever's doing him is NOT trying at all. It's like if Jim Henson tried to do Kermit using his speaking voice, and even that's more distinct. Or a toned down Ernie voice.
I mean I wasn't the biggest fan of Whitmire (as Kermit, he's a great guy IRL. Well, great guy to fans at least). But at least he TRIED and I did kinda get used to him over time.
