A bit more about Iwájú (translates to “The Future”) from what I have seen floating around. The company behind it, Kugali, are a small time comic producer in Nigeria who are a success story in the country with various crowdfunding campaigns leading to them promoting works that, at a glance, look really damn good. kugali.com/And now they’re co-producing an animated series with Disney for their streaming service. That’s pretty nuts. EDIT: Also, because of the announcement, you can read a lot of their work for free on their website for the next few weeks.

A Rogue Squadron/X-Wing inspired film is my dream project. I trust Patty Jenkins. I legitimately can't wait. I was iffy about our subscription at first, but if Michael Stackpole and Aaron Alston are even remotely involved I will feel rewarded.

More on Rescue Rangers' plot: thedisinsider.com/2020/12/11/exclusive-new-details-on-disneys-chip-n-dale-rescue-rangers/According to the casting grid the official log line/synopsis for the film is as follows: It’s been years since the end of the RESCUE RANGERS, and CHIP AND DALE are currently living a life of mediocrity. Now Chip and Dale must renew their partnership to try and save a friend from a fate worst that death: video piracy. In case that description isn’t enough to give you an idea of the general tone Schaffer is aiming for, or what the film will be about, a breakdown for a character named Ellie Whitfield offers some additional details: Human, any ethnicity, Ellie is a newly promoted detective, eager and excitable, the only detective young enough to have grown up with and loved the Rescue Rangers TV show. Being human, she’s much larger than the cartoon characters with whom she interacts, which is all part of the fun as she embarks on helping Chip and Dale track down the sinister Mean Dean. Ellie will be a co-lead, and the studio is looking for an actress between the ages of 25 and 35 to play.

Was Mean Dean ever, anyone from the original show? (I wonder if this is a new name for Fat Cat cause that name = insulting to plus size people? Or felines?)
So yay, we get a Sam Witwicky. Will the US Army help stop, erm, Mean Dean too?
Also interesting...no one else from the team is mentioned? Will it just be C'n'D? (which would kinda sorta be a Rangers In Name Only)

Nope, seems like a new character altogether. Kinda wish it was Norton Nimnul (or at least his nephew Normie), that would at least be a connection

Fearless Leader > Anything I’ve heard about this thing yet. I’m willing to give it a chance but could we stop with the “animated characters meet the real world” crap already? I don’t think I’ve enjoyed one from start to finish since Roger Rabbit and at least that had a good director and fun plot. I just don’t get why Disney sat on all of the Disney Afternoon properties forever, dicked around with them...and this is the best they can finally come up with?

I at least have some hope given that Samberg's running buddy in Akiva Schaffer is working on it. I will die on the hill defending Hot Rod.

Speaking of dicking around, as someone said, this was why we didn't get more out of the RR cameo in the current (oh wait, newest :-( ) DuckTales. So before it comes out, this movie also has The Batman stigma to it already. I guess the Fat Albert movie was okay too. And speaking of Ducktales 2K1x, that shows that given the right people, TDA properties COULD be revived in an inspired way.

This movie better blow me out of the water to prevent me from continuing to be salty over it. A Disney Afternoon reboot is an easy sell for Disney +. Instead they dicked Ducktales around and bounced it all over while not caring about airing episodes out of order and then the Rescue Rangers movie. Hopefully Darkwing will expand on the Ducktales universe more since they made him a big part of it.

Actually just thought of a plot, have be it about a grown up Marilyn Piquel as the main human character. Maybe a single mom raising a kid (s), I know that is cliche, you it is Disney. And of you could have older Lucky and other characters make an appearance. I rather have that than what they are doing, at least it is a establish universe with characters we are are familiar with. PS: The Miranda episodes are not canon, never happened, like the Tori episodes of Saved By The Bell, just ignore it from the canon.

And they already have two episodes recorded, don't they? Well, I'll say it, RELEASE THE MINSKY CUT!!! Seriously, how mature could a Lizzie McGuire show possibly be that Disney would deem it "not family friendly enough"?

Seriously, how mature could a Lizzie McGuire show possibly be that Disney would deem it "not family friendly enough"? Also, not to say this was needed every step of the way but how would you have let the project get to that point in the first place? This is “We hired Lord and Miller to do a Star Wars movie and were shocked when it was treated like a Lord and Miller movie” levels of “how did that happen?”
