I mean, that might still happen in the future. The issue right now is that Hulu is still a service for at least a good couple of years with some of the deals signed with it and since Disney owns that too, there’s zero point in affecting that when it comes in a bundle in the US with ESPN. Until that’s the case, there’s no need to do much. For us, Hulu was supposed to come here for at least a decade and this was the best compromise instead of launching yet another service. I have to think that would be the plan for the U.S. in the future. If not, why not just offer Hulu internationally the same as Disney+ or Netflix? Simple answer: International broadcast rights are a bitch. It was likely worse when three companies had pieces instead of just one.

I know there would be differences in the content offered, but Netflix manages to do that while using one brand name worldwide. Disney now has Disney+, Hulu, and Star (in whatever countries where it isn't just a Disney+ hub).

Netflix can do that because it now owns more of its content then has content deals besides companies NBC (who aren't planning on launching Peacock internationally) and CBS (where it pays all the production costs of Star Trek: Discovery) and has "Netflix Originals" deals with others. It doesn't have to worry about anywhere near as much stuff as the other streaming services do. Disney can't because everything was either all over the place or needed to be renegotiated with others. Hence the need to either launch Hulu, which would have gone down really badly almost a year into Disney+'s international launch, or compromised with a brand it already had in Star, which is just an easier means. Like, I find it very hard to sympathise when a) it took way too long for Disney+ to get here at all considering and b) on a more personal note, you lot have the means to watch every Cartoon Cartoon ever made and I probably won't until late 2021/Mid 2022 depending on when HBO Max gets here.

Little disappointed only two seasons of Bob’s Burgers, 9 and 10, I believe are on Star. And no King of the Hill.

Same for KOTH Anything streaming on Disney+ is from a Disney-owned brand (Buena Vista, Touchstone, Hollywood Pictures, 20th Century Fox). The issue is likely Amazon Prime in Canada having streaming rights to BB for the time being.

Unless it’s very recently changed, as in past week or so, Bob’s Burgers S01-S08 were available for streaming on Amazon Prime in Canada. No idea about KotH tho

In Canada, we have Starz as part of the Crave streaming package, along with the recently launched Star. So Star isn't merely a Disney+ hub in Canada like it is other countries? For myself, I don’t have kids so no need for Parental lock, and everything from Star shows up as part of the main page of D+. No separate portal or anything

Yeah, I had assumed everything was gonna be behind the “Star” wall so to see it all seamlessly integrated into the main Disney+ is nice. Although, I will say it is incredibly jarring to see some of these Fox titles pop up amongst the D+ stuff. Titan AE, Star Wars and Alien all side by side is definitely something

I barely ever use Prime, so I forgot all about that.

Muppet Show episodes are in proper airing order. and messing up my viewed thing! RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE! >_> edit: Also they were in the New York Airing Order originally... and was then changed to production order which is how they were on the DVDs I believe. which is of course weird because Scooter appears before he's introduced this way
