From Indonesia :
Some youngsters in Indonesia were recently found to have been using sanitary pads as a cheaper alternative to drugs and alcohol.
Teens from different parts of the country have reportedly been able to get intoxicated and high by boiling used sanitary pads and drinking the water.
According to National Narcotics Agency Central Java chapter head Senior Commander Suprinarto, the chlorine produced by the boiled mixture induces hallucinations and created a sensation of “flying” similarly experienced when using some form of drugs.

I have to treat this like I do most "teens find new drug epidemic" pieces that crop in the States every few months that turns out to be maybe a case or two, if not just entirely made up, and incredibly overhyped by the authorities and local media. It's just too stupid not to. I mean...someone had to have actually been the first to have this idea form in their head to begin with. Weird.

These are people who I never hope to meet at any point in my life.
