There was a rare OOP DVD triple I was looking for that I could only find for around $60, usually more any time I looked for it. Yesterday, I found it on eBay and with shipping it costs a little over $21. Of course I won’t know for sure until it gets here what shape it’s in, but I tend to be a good judge of eBay buyers and the guy I bought that had nearly 300 reviews, not a single negative, and had been selling for a while.
Also, I more closely narrowed down the selection of Christmas gifts I’ll be getting for people. I’ll have to see what last minute deals come out on Black Friday and Cyber Monday before I pick everything out, but still things are falling into place.

It was the Jungle Horrors Triple Feature out by Shriek Show. Amazon has it here: www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000DZ95RG/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8They put out two different versions of it. The original which compiles the single releases of each movie so you get three cases and a single case version. The single case version just comes in one case, but has all three discs. That’s the one I got. I’d actually prefer the original since it’s better for reselling as then you can sell the titles either individually or as a set. But since it’s OOP both versions are tough to come by. I’ve also read reviews of people thinking they were getting the original version and instead getting the single case. For 1/3rd the price of what I’ve been seeing it go for I’m okay with settling on the single case. Plus, with Shriek Show I mostly collect them because I’m a fan and enjoy the content rather than planning to resell them

My local Planet Fitness put an inflatable tube man near the entrance so I can feel like I’m Bayley every time I enter the gym.

Not today, but Tuesday morning of this week was an incredibly rare productive day for me. The night before, my mom had taught me to make vegetable soup, but I got sick (noncontagious) and had to go lie down before I could try any. So Tuesday, I got up nice and early, and had a bowl of soup accompanied by two ham and cheese paninis. Then my dad taught me how to make coffee with his coffeemaker, and then my mom related how she made her stove top coffee. I threw in a load of laundry, and decided to try my hand at making a pecan pie while waiting. While my pie was baking, I went out to feed the roses in the backyard. Then, while my pie was cooling, I trimmed the mums in the front yard, before showering and washing my hair

Today the kids asked me what their chores were for the day. I told them and they actually did them all without fighting or arguing or any thing.

I snagged my ticket for Pirates Opening Day. Yay for Internet pre-sales! My mom’s Christmas present arrived today. Would you folks like to see it? This is early morning on the boardwalk in Ocean City, New Jersey. Would you believe that I took this picture? I did, and here’s the original: I’m pretty proud of myself because I had no idea how to convert a digital photo into something you can hang on the wall. So I hit up Google and came across the Shutterfly website. It was so easy; I just picked the size, frame, and background and the site did the rest. I got a projected delivery date of November 27-28, so it was cool to get it a week early.

Scanning Facebook today and World Pulse Fest had a post "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT COMING TOMORROW!" (About which acts are coming to South Bend for their 3-day "summer music festival".) Dated Nov. 20th.
Okay, I'll check their page out to see who is coming, as it's the 22nd.
Reading the list. June 14...Tenth Avenue North and Danny Gorky...eh, no. July 12, Crowder and We Are Messengers...eh, no. August 9, Amy Grant and I Am They...eh...
Hold on.
(Reads again. "August 9th, Amy Grant". Read it again. "Amy." "Grant." I'm ecstatic. I wanna jump up and down and screech like a teenage girl. I'm 44 years old, folks. And a dude.)
I go to the website of the building she will be playing at. "Tickets on sale tomorrow starting at $25." There's Amy's 2013 "How Mercy Looks From Here" liner notes photo.
I calmly show the wife, "I want these tickets for Christmas." She kinda chuckled as if to think "Dear husband of 20 years, I love you to the moon and back. We've seen her twice, in 2011 & 2015.
You're insane."
(Inside I'm screeching like a teenage girl: "I KNEW I WAS GONNA SEE AMY IN 2019, I KNEW THE PATTERN WOULD CONTINUE...SCREEEEEEEEEEEE!")

My laptop has been disconnecting the wifi more and more lately, usually when I'm attempting to download something large, forcing me to reboot everything all the time. The suggested solution of turning off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" didn't make any difference. Today I went out of my way to find a new driver for the network adapter, and everything's been working flawless after that.

This one is deep, kind of personal, and kind of graphic. So I'm going to use a Spoiler tab here in case you want to skip this. {Spoiler}Okay... so it begins 7 years ago when my wife and I had a miscarriage. Not the best place to start off. We were in our fourth year of marriage at the time and were ready. And it didn't take. It was a heartbreaking time in our lives, but we didn't stop there. We continued trying and trying to have a baby. Didn't happen. We went for medical consultations. My wife has PCOS, making it difficult for her to conceive. My counts were low, and what I had wasn't exactly motile - kind of lazy, a cruel karmic joke against me. So we tried IVF. First round: None of the specimens survived long enough to be implanted. Second round: Three were implanted, none survived. We were again heartbroken.
In 2016, we decided to go for our third (and final, as hospitals here tend to refuse couples beyond their third attempt) attempt. My wife had scheduled her initial ultrasound, time to get the prescriptions, and so on and so forth. Except that ended up not being necessary. THE MONTH before we were to go in, we conceived. Our daughter was born 9 months later, and continues to amaze me to this day. We did always want at least two, but were happy with our little impossible girl (we only thought of Clara after naming her Sofia, so we missed the Doctor Who connection - drats!).
Well, two days ago I took my wife in for an ultrasound. 7 years after miscarrying, after being told it would likely never happen for us without medical intervention, after being told I had something like 5 years of fertility left, we're going to be welcoming our second child into the world at the end of May/beginning of June. I'd say that's a pretty good thing.
