While I'm all for Reeves to join the MCU, I am getting a little nervous with all of these traditionally big named actors getting attached to the project. Call me it paranoia, and it probably is at this point in the MCU's existence, but I'd hate to see this movie come out riddled with "creative control" tweaks and edits from the big named parties involved. Jolie and to a lesser extent Reeves are both known for liking to be very "hands on" with their movies' scripts during the filming process.
The last time the MCU dealt with an older Hollywood big name it led to similar things happening and ultimately that actor's departure from the MCU.

MCU has earned the benefit of doubt in doing shit right and even with the bigger name actors i'm sure they know what's in store and what is expected of them

Its a pretty obscure property so filling out the cast makes sense. I don’t know jack vince McMahon shit about the eternals but my curiousity for it is continually ramping up.

The Eternals are a pretty interesting though somewhat obscure part of Cosmic Marvel. They're extremely powerful and long-lived evolutionary offshoots of humanity created by the Celestials in order to protect the Earth, though they do have free will and some have been pretty evil. There's also their cousin race and rivals, the Deviants, that are more grotesque and monstrous. They tend to be the basis of gods, demigods, demons, heroes, and monsters in ancient Earth mythologies. There's also a number of alien Eternals, including Kree and Skrull Eternals.
One of the most prominent Eternals is Eros of Titan, who also goes by the alias of Starfox and has fought alongside the Avengers. He's also brothers with Thanos (who was a Titanian Eternal though he had the Deviant gene within him, essentially making him a hybrid of the two races), though I'm not sure if they'll keep that connection in the MCU.
Really curious who they get to play Thena (leader of the Eternals) and Kro (leader of the Deviants), though.

I'm hoping they keep the Thanos connection in the movie, it would make for some interesting talk if they ever meet a new Avengers team

Something to keep in mind about the Eternals is that when Jack Kirby created them and throughout their first series' run, it was the intent purpose to keep them out of the Marvel Universe. It was supposed to be a completely different reality without superheroes or mythological gods. Only after the original series ended - and much to Kirby's chagrin - were the Eternals (and Deviants and Celestials) integrated into the MU Proper. This is why when they were first introduced they were supposed to be the basis of all the myths and legends of old, and were retconned into just hanging out in the gods' places pretending to be them while the gods weren't dealing with Earth much.

No Keanu. Jolie is Thena. No MBB either, unless that’s an “announced later” thing.

I don’t know anything about the Eternals but Salma Hayek, Kumail Nanjiani and Brian Henry means I’m in.

Of course the top reply is someone bitching about them not being white. I really have kind of been ignoring this movie but seeing that response makes me want to see it out of spite.

It's a mini Stark family reunion as Richard Madden (who played Robb Stark) is going to be Ikaris in addition to Kit being in as Black Knight.
Weird that they're making Ajak the leader of the group when that role traditionally belongs to Thena. I can already imagine the butthurt about them casting a deaf black woman as Makkari even though I imagine that not a single person expressing outrage has read a single comic involving the Eternals.

I have to assume this means Marvel will finally release another collection of Kirby's Eternals stories, which is great because older versions are very hard to come by.
Never been a big fan of the Eternals themselves, but their main enemies the Deviants are pretty cool, as are the Celestials. All the concepts, however, do work better separate from the 616 Marvel Universe.

Isn't Thanos in the comics half-Eternal, half-Deviant?

Isn't Thanos in the comics half-Eternal, half-Deviant? He is, yes, and brother of Starfox. Will be interesting if it carries over into the movies once Starfox shows up.
