They've sunk a lot of money into expanding the brand worldwide. I'm not sure what's so hard to understand about it.

185 cafes, 25 hotels, and 12 casinos
Only ate at one once in Chicago. It was a completely forgettable experience.
No idea how it is so successful.

It's just another themed fast-casual place, not too different from TGIFs and Chilis and there are hundreds of those around.

I'd understand more if their food wasn't awful. Like, more awful than other high street chains like that.

I forgot about the memorabilia aspect, because otherwise it makes no sense to me for a tourist to go to what is essentially a slightly more expensive McDonald's that sells t-shirts.

Five minutes walk away is an awesome area full of restaurants and bars. Less than that the other way is a better tourist trap kind of area. I don't get why anybody would choose the hard rock cafe. It doesn't even have the comfort of familiar McDonald's.

I feel like they used to be huge in the US and spawned Planet Holllywood. At least, the idea of celebs starting their own restaurant featuring memorabilia.

At least it isn't like Waffle House with like 5 in a 2 mile radius.

So many Hard Rock Café, but I would love a Rainforest Café near me, just to see how it is.

It plays Rock music. That is literally the only selling point for me since I know the food isn't all that great and the menu is usually the same no matter what country it is.
Plus the one in Berlin played some Iron Maiden for me because I was wearing their t-shirt. Which was nice of them.

You can listen to music anywhere.
