We've all been enticed by the concept of these, every time we need to buy more batteries and instead go for whichever's on sale between normal Duracell and normal Energizer. Do they 'work'? Anyone with any experience with buying and using them? I guess I wouldn't need them to 'last too long' between charges, since that's what the rechargeableness is for. Are these good, or were any of these types faulty somehow? Like they didn't work right somehow perhaps. Then, come to find out that people make these too: Rechargeables that use USB to charge. Do THESE work? Somehow I fear these are more likely to instantly go in-and-out of power because of some sort of connectivity issue with the device the batteries are plugged into.

Rechargeable batteries are shit. Just pay the $4 and get normal batteries.

I had the Duracell ones, they worked but ran out of juice a lot quicker than regular batteries. If you have a couple sets for your devices they're ok, you can charge one set while the other is in use. I didn't have the patience to deal with the shorter battery life and went back to the regular ones. Never tried the USB variety.

They are ok but for how much you have to recharge them, you would be better off just buying normal batteries. I always get the off brand batteries in the 20 pack and that keeps me busy for awhile.

I used to think I was being a sucker for always buying regular batteries instead rechargeable ones. Guess I was doing the right thing the whole time...

It depends, if you are willing to pay more like the panasonic brand called eneloops they sell them at costco, I have some for my game controllers they work great.
If you go cheap they generally suck and don't last all that long. You basically get what you pay for with batteries, if you are buying them go for the eneloops and you'll be happy if you go with some 12 dollar pack of duracells you're gonna be annoyed.

I tried them once. Tasted awful. Had awful acid indigestion after it.

I use rechargables in my Xbox controllers. I usually only get about 90% of the time I'd get with regular batteries before I have to recharge, but it's cheaper than buying new batteries all the time.

Depends what you use them for. Something you only use a few times a year, don't bother. I use rechargeable batteries just for my console controllers, and they're perfect for that when you have a few sets.
