Zone Fighter was a 26-episode television series aired in Japan in 1973, and is among a plethora of Ultraman clones and knock-offs that littered that time period. Unlike many of its contemporaries like Mirrorman, Space Giants, Spectreman, etc., it had something the others didn't: Godzilla. ZF was produced by Toho, and in the only instance of the sort, opted to place it in the "GodzillaVerse." While several previous shows retooled and reutilized old Godzilla and Toho Monster suits for new creatures in the various TV shows, this was the only time Godzilla - as well as Gigan and King Ghidorah - appeared as themselves. It is officially in-canon with Godzilla Vs. Gigan and Godzilla Vs. Megalon, if not others in the series. Oh, and Godzilla lives in a giant cave with sliding doors build by the Zone Fighter family. It's kinda weird. Has there ever been any attempt to bring this series to R1 format? Seems like a solid bet given who's in it. You'd figure Shout Factory would be all over something like this.

I am embarrassed to say I have these on VHS somewhere. I'm pretty sure they were in Japanese with no subtitles.
