We had VHS then DVD now streaming. We’ve had some other stuff along the way but those are some of the big ones. I’ve been reading more and more about how that model isn’t sustainable, but what the heck would come next?

After streaming? We've forgone owning physical copies in order to trust the entertainment lords that their networks and clouds and such would be there when we want them. Companies' physical media overhead will be a thing of the past, the general public won't have their own copies of anything, and said companies will decide when and what we can watch.
I don't see them being too eager to move beyond this point. The movie studios, record labels, etc have all wanted this for decades - to have 100% control over the accessibility of their stuff. They got what they wanted. It'll evolve as aspects regarding it get easier, etc but this is probably where we stay.

Yeah Madison's right. I don't think we'll ever get anything that's actually "ours" ever again. So whatever the next step is... it's going to be centralized past our reach.

Streamed holograms. Enjoy the latest episode of The Walking Dead where you get to stand alongside Michonne in your living room/kitchen as she fights zombies right next to you, while you’re trying to eat.
MLP episodes where you’ll want to hug Applejack but she’s a ghost and you just fall on the floor.
Infinity War where you’re in the middle of the final battle.
Experience Jurassic Bark where Seymour sits next to you, but you’re powerless to do anything.

Hopefully a broadband infrastructure to properly support streaming.

I'm guessing VR type stuff where it's like you're in the movie as a character.
Pop your headset on and your Frodo in the movie seeing it through his eyes or something.

People can hate all the want on Ready Player One, but you bet your ass I'd love to have Flicksync (hell, the OASIS as a whole) become a real thing.

I like the convenience of streaming, but there are always going to be titles that i want to physically own.

I also think it'll be holograms next, but it'll be the star wars "help me obi-wan" type first projected onto dust particles in the air, then as tech advances eventually star trek style holograms.
I say star trek is the end game as that seems to be what most tech is inspired by (mobile/cell phones sliming down and being able to do crap loads other than just be a phone, flat screen tv's instead of big arse chunky tvs. and so on).
