Was there a moment Flair went from rich, shit-talking ladies man to elbow-dropping coats and stripping?

When Hogan joined WCW.

After he came back in 98 and he stripped to his underwear. I think Bischoff gave him a real mid life crisis.

To me he was never the same after the in-ring "breakdown/heart attack" angle in WCW that was quickly written off as Bischoff poisoning him. The asylum angle didn't help.

After Bischoff's real life meltdown where Flair sued and had to take time out.
As a side note, I've heard a few different interviews where it's mentioned that if Ric hadn't been desperate to return to the ring and had just held out, he could have nailed the company in that suit.
"Hold on Ricky and they'll be naming buildings after you if you ask them" is a lawyer quote.

When he became WCW president I thought he was more or less done as a full-time wrestler but nope. He was looking long in the tooth during Evolution, but he could still go in the ring to a degree. But once he went to TNA, that did it:

He was doing a heated in-ring promo with Mean Gene and at the end walked over to the corner in pain and collapsed in a heap; the entire time Gene trying to finish the segment before finally almost-annoyed says "this man needs help" at the end as ringside crew start to check on Flair. It was all set up to look like he had a real heart attack on the air, but after a couple of weeks, they half-hazardly blurted out some half-ass thing on commentating that Bischoff may have done something to Flair to cause the situation. This was somewhere in 98/99

It all started around there, definitely. But when he was in a feud with a guy like Bischoff or Hogan, he was great in the 1990s WCW. The Macho Man feud was very memorable. His nuttiness got worse during late 1990s when involved with Eric Bischoff. I'm sure Ric did some things outside of wrestling to have to stick around for so long for the money but I also think wrestling is such a major part of his life that he put up with some crap that 1980s, early 1990s star Ric shouldn't have had to put up with. Similar with Jim Ross, as mentioned in the Jesse Ventura thread, Jim put up with a lot from Vince McMahon but Jim has such a love for wrestling that he puts up with the crap for the sake of "the business" because of his love for it.

From my point of view, he was never truly "Slick Rick" again after the 80s. He was classic styling, profiling, Ric Flair all the way through the 80s and into early 1990. He always carried parts of that character with him, but through most of the 90s he was more of a "living legend" type character and went through various incarnations of that until the later 90s when he transitioned from the "legend who could still go" to "batshit crazy old guy" which he kept going through different variations of throughout the 2000s....

Flair jumped the shark for me when he attacked Hogan while dressed in drag.
I repeat. Ric Flair attacked Hulk Hogan while dressed in drag. Let that sink in for a moment.

I'd agree that from the time Hogan showed up, he was never quite the same. Didn't go full-on screaming crazy until about 98 or 99.

The Flair in drag angle at Uncensored is really just a play on a stock in trade Memphis style angle and that PPV was in Tupelo (where the old concession brawl occurred) so it was probably done as a nod to Memphis angles. They also did a concession brawl on that PPV with the Nasty Boys and Harlem Heat. Lawler did the drag angle to attack people a few times.
That said, Flair coming back in drag was pretty much the end of him being Slick Ric and more of the loony mid life crisis Flair. But then he veered more into Slick Ric again during the Macho 1996 feud, only to totally lose his mind while feuding with the NWO/Bischoff.
