possibly the same person that compared 9/11 to the steroids thing with her dad And I say that as somebody that actually really likes Steph but she's sometimes painfully ouch of touch with reality, not unlike her dad. I get where she was coming from, in that on a personal level 9/11 brought up a lot of the same emotions she felt when it looked like Vince would be going to prison. Doesn't change the fact that it made her look like an insensitive ass who compared her family's legal problem with the horrific deaths of several thousand citizens while the rubble of the Twin Towers was still smouldering. Circle gets the square. People have personal experiences that are their frame of reference for personal tragedies, etc. Most just don't have a camera pointed in their face when they're not in the right frame of mind.

Regarding Cena's comment being cut from replays, I just checked the episode on WWE Network (Smackdown 935), and the line about the towers falling has not been removed.

I remember at a house show (I think it was a house show?) when Cena announced to the live audience in a unusually formal sounding way that Bin Laden got killed to a monster pop. It was surprisingly at Extreme Rules 2011. I was at that PPV. Almost the entire arena was chanting “USA!” as we filed out.

I underestimated the Guerreros, I don't know what to say, bro. Those dudes are better at cheating than Ben Affleck is with J-Lo. I don't got the U.S. Title, but I didn't lose any steam. Screw Ted Turner and the Braves, I'm America's team. John Cena's more American than silicone strippers. Leaving cats dead in their tracks with heart attacks like John Ritter. And next week, John Cena fulfills his patriotic duty. I'll be higher than hippies on 4:20 watching a Cheech & Chong movie. I'm an American thug standing on top of this building. Leaving all opposition dead, like Saddam Hussein's children. Word Life!
I remember they cut the John Ritter line from this. Even crazier? John Ritter died on September 11th, 2003.
So Cena doesn't mind using death to get a reaction.

Had to watch the Trish barking sequence in one class.

One dimensional patriotism angle is the reason why we would never see an immigrant who portrays a victim of ignorance by same people that chant USA. TNA came close with Daivari who was giving promos how hard it is to be an Iranian in USA and how much crap he takes everyday. He came close to exposing the audience but I don't think that was the intention of booking team so they did not push it forward.

It was surprisingly at Extreme Rules 2011. I’m till more confused how the f*** the rock knew bin laden was killed before anyone. He tweeted that shit first before any news outlet or anything Well, he may have doubled as President Obama's voice-alike guy and got news through the Presidents cabinet?

On the east coast, he invoked 9/11 for a soda.

In all seriousness though, when it comes to the Bin Laden announcement at Extreme Rules 2011, I have no issue with that or the phrasing. It was a major moment in American history and it was delivered in as tasteful and family-friendly way as that news could have possibly been communicated.
Mentioning 9/11 before a 2017 4th of July flag match with Rusev, not so much.

Not sure why this is a big deal. I invoke 9/11 at every family gathering and it gets one hell of a "USA!" chant going every time.

Had to watch the Trish barking sequence in one class. Ok, why were you watching the Trish barking segment in a class? The class was American Society. The clip was part of a documentary called "Wrestling with Manhood". It covered the usual talking points about problems being solved by violence and toxic masculinity. The Trish part was more about the audience whooping and hollering during the segment, even though it was supposedly a villain thing. The doc lost all credibility when it played sexy music over wrestling clips to show the latent homoeroticism.
