Impact should have taken the advice of Jake Roberts and not included attempted murder in 3 storylines.

I'd go with a C-. There's been a lot of crap but this does feel like a year where they've been making a sincere effort to improve the product. As low a bar as it is, Impact's more watchable now than it was at the start of 2018.

D.
This promotion has no reason to exist anymore. It's so... nothing.

B
Impact needed this year to rebound and build thier brand. Not every storyline worked and some episodes were ok. Yet Callis and crew and doing a good job building wrestlers, storylines and booking great ppvs and events.

B.
They tried and other than the Austin Aries debacle, they fixed a lot of shit.
I don’t rate them higher because Josh Mathews is still employed.

I was going to go for the F out if habit but they got an E from me.
The show is largely just boring and inoffensive which would have got it a D, but the Lucha Budgetground stuff and horrendous commentary just pull it down. Possibly E+.

I'd give it a B on pure merit, but given where the company was before and how many metric tons of BS they have to dig their way out from under to rebuild their image, I'll do what I do sometimes as a teacher and give them a B+ for the needed additional effort.
It's not remarkable television, it's not industry changing or worthy of insane buzz, but they had one of the better PPVs of the year in Slammaversary (and arguably BFG could be up there, too), they focused on getting people over, they have pretty well-rounded cards, and two hours of Impact doesn't feel at all like a slog to sit through. Again, given where the promotion was very, very recently I'll give them that bit of extra credit. I don't go far out of my way to catch Impact, but when I have this past year it's been a pretty decent time.

I'm going C+. They have benefited somewhat with their new direction, and the fact that WWE has been absolutely dogshit this year, but looking at the matches, a lot of their has been from them aping and using Lucha Underground's talents. The shows have gotten better, but there's still a lot that left to be desired. They were smart to cut bait on El Patron when he went nuts, but he was still employed by them. They have had some top grade talent this year, but without guys that feel like they're being made by being in Impact, it still feels like a indy that brings in big name talent, but it feels like they're going to stick around, even when they're champs. And they were awesome to promote and boost NL this year, even letting them and a litany of other Twitch streamers host their live Twitch Wrestlmania show (probably their best show of the year), but they still didn't use Andrew Everett much, even when he won the tag belts with DJZ, and then they cut him. So, it's a wash for them, which is probably their best standing with me in the last 4 years.

I will say this was their best year since 2012.
In the business aspect is when the current regime has exceeded the most: Wrestlers getting paid on time, no lawsuits outside of lolJarrett, touring instead of being stuck in the Impact Zone, partnerships with LU, AAA,twitch, the hiring of Garrett Kidney and slowly will take over Josh as VP of Digital Media etc.
PPV have improved.
The Wrestling has improved as well.
The TV show still lack consistency and some of the storylines arent really exciting, hopefully the TV product is a priority in 2019 along with digital/streaming services like the GWN.
Hard to imagine that Dixie wasted so much money that Anthem is still paying her debt.

It's a generous D. It's just so meh at the moment. Vast improvement on what it was, though.

C
The shows are good but boring as they are instantly forgettable
Give them bonus points for the PPVs having fun matches
Probably their best overall year in a little while

They're just a very middle of the road indy right now, with a couple very unfortunate remnants of their past lingering on (that lame ass Aries angle, lol). Best they've been in years but it's not saying that much.

A generous B. They did a lot of rebuilding, and are making far fewer stupid decisions. They're still kinda bland for my tastes, but they're unlearning bad habits.

For some reason Im still mad Callis wasnt hired last year because Impact wouldve been in a better position, they wasted 2017 by hiring Jarrett who did nothing but waste tv time on Karen, Prichard and his buddies, the negative stigma with the broken gimmick incident and threatening ROH to cancel their shows, JB/Borash being one of their top feuds, etc.

I'm not sure I can put a letter on it. Quality-wise TNA's the best they've been in years, but that's just made them rise to the level of me not giving a shit about them as opposed to deriving enjoyment from their failures.
