It's new year's eve, get it out of your system so we can all start 2019 fresh.
What was the ONE thing in WWE that angered your this year?
For me it was the complete waste of Sami Zayn/Kevin Owens vs Shane McMahon.

A number of things in WWE have angered me this year (using Roman's illness for heat, not sending Nia Jax back to NXT, Lars Sullivan being called up), but the one thing that has angered me most is WWE's relationship with the government of Saudi Arabia.

other than Crown Jewel? naming your big womens' showcase at Wrestlemania after a known sexual predator.

The winner of this for me is always Vince McMahon.
Every year he finds more ways to be tone deaf, unaware, out of touch, and a detriment to the product.
Luckily it finally bit him in his arrogant ass.

Just one thing? Because I could name at least five...
I guess I'll go with how they completely wasted Braun Strowman. They spent all of 2017 turning this guy into an unstoppable juggernaut that the crowds loved, and then turned around in 2018 and did their damnedest to cut off his legs because they couldn't let him be bigger than Roman Reigns.
He dominated the Elimination Chamber, eliminated five people, stood tall at the end, but didn't win.
He won the tag titles, but had to vacate them because his partner was a ten year old.
He won the Greatest Royal Rumble, which led to nothing since it happened on a glorified house show.
Utterly dominated a feud with Kevin Owens, which did nothing to elevate Braun but sure made Owens look like a jackass thanks to how long the feud dragged out.
Won Money In the Bank, promised to cash in the second Lesnar showed his face on Raw. Didn't do that. Then failed his cash-in on Reigns when their Hell in a Cell match ENDED IN A f***ING NO CONTEST!
Turned heel, effectively killing off any heat he still had with the audience. Turned face again less than three months later because the guy he turned heel on had to leave the show.
Got another Universal Title match. Lost after getting no offense because the guy who once walked away from an ambulance crash somehow couldn't handle a simple belt shot to the back of the head.
And now he has ANOTHER title match against Lesnar, which he almost certainly isn't going to win, at which point the "Braun is OP" thread can rightly be renamed to "Braun is a bitch".
In less than one year they took the guy who could have easily been in the Roman Reigns spot of top face of the company, and made him look like he's not even worthy of filling in for Reigns while he's gone.
Other things I could list include but are not limited to:
- The booking of Rusev Day, KO and Zayn, Nakamura, Samoa Joe, Lashley, Sasha and Bayley, Asuka (until a few weeks ago), and pretty much all of the NXT call ups from this year.
-Raw being a dreary, miserable slog of a show that I can no longer sit through.
-The Raw 25 episode being an absolute clusterf***
-The Entire Saudi Arabia partnership
-Survivor Series and the non-existent fallout from it, and pretty much just how pointless most PPVs feel these days
-Baron Corbin and the return of the Evil Authority Figure
-Brock Lesnar

The Saudi thing is what made me finally ditch my Network subscription. I always felt like a hypocrite complaining about the product while giving them 120 bucks every year. Well, that whole ordeal was the straw that broke the camel's back. I'm sorta over it at this point, I'm still reading results and watching clips on YouTube, and I've been considering watching Smackdown again.
But at the time, all the political stuff that I won't go into out of respect for board rules along with trotting out the legends I grew up with being a sad sight for me. It made me feel like "wow, WWE always seemed like such a cool company when I was growing up and now it's just so lame these days. Feels like a shadow of it's former self from the Attitude days, while ironically bringing back the stars from that time period."

I'm still annoyed at the Daniel Bryan heel turn. Way too early fans arnt ready to boo him and wwe is really lacking in faces that I don't see the point.

Charlotte tapping out Asuka at Mania killed not only my emotional investment in the rest of the show, but my interest in WWE overall for a long while. I'm back to watching sporadically but I still haven't rewatched that match or event since.

I'm going to choose one real world thing and one kayfabe thing, because otherwise Crown Jewel is running away with this. So...
1A. Crown Jewel 1B. Charlotte tapping out Asuka

Brock Lesnar as Universal Champion. Not only did they drag out the feud with Roman Reigns when it should have ended at WrestleMania, but now they put Lesnar over instead of Strowman, making Strowman look like he can't get the job done in the end, and putting the Universal Championship back to its "might as well not exist" state.
I want to be optimistic about WWE in 2019, but starting things off with Strowman losing to Lesnar again is not something I'm looking forward to. It'll be hard to rebuild Strowman after that one, and I wish they would put just about anyone else in that position. Even having Elias vs. Lesnar would be something different at least. We know no one is beating Lesnar until WrestleMania anyway (and maybe not even then).

The whole “Acting GM Baron Corbin” angle, which gave us some of the worst Raw episodes in recent memory.

other than Crown Jewel? naming your big womens' showcase at Wrestlemania after a known sexual predator. I could see the "Oh, it's just naming it for the character and not the person" being the defense. Then again, person vs. character is why no one mentions certain other people, especially one. I think Crown Jewel really put that in perspective, that there could be worse things. And how sponsors cracked down on that (to change it to the Giant Uterus championship) and not CJ amazes me. #MeToo being trendy, I wonder? Now I am wondering when the Moolah stories really came out, cause no one had a problem with her and Mae being on TV every week going into the 2000s and being pushed as major parts or punchlines to the show? Did she just seem like a different person by then and they just trusted that?

Putting the title back on Lesnar at Crown Jewel. I think it is Exhibit A in why WWE's ratings have tanked lately. It was just a breach of trust from the company to the viewers.

Besides the entirety of Crown Jewel...
Using Roman's illness to influence Ambrose and Rollins in turn damaging all 3 guys even more. Ambrose is a heel and it's taking a longer time for him to catch on and Rollins isn't the babyface he needs to be. You mean to tell me that you're so fixated on using a damaged man's illness to prep up some of your wrestling shit? When a man is literally fighting for his damn life?
Yo, f*** you for that WWE. f***. You.

Them giving the belt back to Brock after Roman left struck a blow to my interest in the modern product so severely it honestly may never recover. Since then, I watched the War Games match, half watched Survivor Series, and watched the Women’s TLC match. That’s it. I don’t really even have any interest in the Royal Rumble or Wrestlemania either.

Did she just seem like a different person by then and they just trusted that? I want to say that there were rumors and conjecture about Moolah for years (and it was common knowledge that she politicked and basically killed women's wrestling in the states to make herself look good) but the stories of her being sexually abusive didn't really come out until shortly before or after her death. Vince likely knew but much like Snuka he just opted not to look too far into it until outside forces caused him to (he was told to always take care of Moolah by his dad). in some ways Vince is a lot like Joe Paterno if he had no sterling reputation to ruin to begin with.
