Shawn Michaels coming out of retirement that he had been so fervent on keeping his word on for a Saudi Arabia show. It was bad enough that he came out of retirement in the first place but making it that show which was clouded in controversy in a match with other broken down attitude era guys. Sad. Leave the memories alone.
Braun. I echo the sentiments of many here in that they completely derailed his push for no clear reason but that he wasn't roman.

There's a hundred things that pissed me off this year but the thing that made me most randomly angry was having the tag title and WWE title matches at Summerslam end in DQ within a couple matches of each other.
I don't know why and maybe it was months of pent up frustration but that made me so mad lol
Also the 2 anniversary shows. You had these two genuinely huge milestones for Raw and Smackdown (25th anniversary and 1000th episode) and both shows were awful. They had no idea what they wanted to do with them and it showed.

I've been tremendously bored this year, but the only thing that made me really angry is the relationship with Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi deal made me feel legitimately ashamed to enjoy the product, which could be a little unfair to them as I probably enjoy other products that are made by companies who are in bed with the Saudis too.
Still, WWE was more like a propaganda arm for the Saudis before the mess happened.

Shane McMahon/World Cup debacle....
Here's a chance to showcase your best athletes, hell, even boost up the credibility of some of the NXT UK athletes.
Instead, you make this a pointless clusterf*** of a tournament/show and make the owner's birth son the winner of said shit tournament that accomplished nothing.

I think Crown Jewel really put that in perspective, that there could be worse things. And how sponsors cracked down on that (to change it to the Giant Uterus championship) and not CJ amazes me. #MeToo being trendy, I wonder? There was only one sponsor for Crown Jewel, the Saudis. The regular sponsors have no part in that deal, so they can just say "We're not involved in any of that" if someone came at them. They couldn't say the same thing about the Mania battle royal, so they stepped in to protect their brands.

Not including the Saudi shows I'm going to say Lesnar beating Romance at Wrestlemania. Made the guy they wanted to be the top guy look like a goober just so Lesnar can beat Punk's reign as longest world champion.

The needless bitchification of Samoa Joe; Dude can go in the ring, looks menacing, cuts incredible promos but is constantly beaten and made to looks like a chump.
The missing Universal title is a close second.

Squandering a top title on Brock who is completely over with or without a belt.
The continued positioning of Shane McMahon as an equal to the wrestlers.
I imagine Iāll have the same answers 365 days from now.

Lot's of things made me angry at the WWE this year... to say something that hasn't been said yet though...
the WWE's complete and utter lack of having a backup plan if Roman got injured.

I mean, itās been said already but the Saudi deal is just the biggest damn kick in the teeth as a fan. Especially since they didnāt need the money with those TV deals that were rumored since the start of the year (which was actually part of the reason I cancelled my subscription then because I literally donāt matter as a fan),
I still feel a bit of shame for watching GRR especially with the promos they had during the āintermissionā (which our venue actually did a mass with wrestling references that was super dumb and super fun at the same time).
I donāt even blame anyone taking a WWE contract because where else are they going to get paid and this is on management alone. On the flip side, all the people who talk about LGBTQ rights and hype up womenās wrestling...it really rubs me the wrong way.

If is it just one...Crown Jewel.
Allowing for others as well, yeah, it's wasting all the build on Strowman against Brock, the needless original decision for the Moolah Battle Royal and overplaying and overexposing the Baron Corbin GM stuff, when they'd just shown how to do it well with Paige on SmackDown.

I'm angered at just how BORING it is.
The WWE has been using the same formula for 20 years now and I'm just over it. Stopped watching live. I catch highlights on YouTube if I'm really curious.

I have no problem with Brock being Champion and the "final boss" - but only if he's used to put someone over. WWE has steadfastly refused to do so for three years but this year, pushing Strowman away, delaying the Reigns win, then reverting back to Brock has wasted the whole title picture for the last 12 months.

The Saudi shows. A lot of the dumb things WWE did this year were mostly idiotic from a wrestling/entertainment perspective. The deal with the Saudi government shatters the suspension of disbelief bubble and drags really ugly geopolitics into the fray.
As others have said, the KSA was the only real sponsor of the shows over there. And if you're going to throw shade like that at movements like MeToo, maybe not use its example as a reason for sponsors turning a blind eye to a country where women are literally second-class citizens.
