287. Ernest Goes to School. I haven’t watched an Ernest movie since Scared Stupid was in theatres. I loved it then. And I loved this now. Sometimes you need to toss everything except simple dumb humour away and be a kid again.

288. Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer, Part II. This was almost just as good as the first one. What held it back? A different actor playing Henry. Michael Rooker didn’t want to do it and while the guy who did did a GREAT job it just wasn’t the same. Still it was one of those rare sequels that lived up to its predecessor.

#350 - I Am Mother
It’s a great sci-fi movie that does a lot with what didn’t seem like a huge budget. There’s good acting and directing, with a plot that is not only entertaining, it leaves you thinking about it way after the film ends. [****]

289. Alien 2 - Sulla Terra. It’s too bad this movie ended up sucking because the gore effects (while cheesy) were really cool. It just moved so...damn...slow... And yes, this was made to try milk off the popularity of Alien. The one dubbed voice is the same voice as Brian in Zombi. Anyone know who’s voice that is? I’ve heard it in other movies where it wasn’t being used for Al Cliver.

#351 - Star Wars: The Last Jedi
I'm one of the few people who doesn't love or hate this movie. I can see the good (everything Kylo/Rey related, it's visually stunning, the action is great) and I know the problems (the Finn sideplot, Holdo's storyline, Mary Poppins style Lei, Luke's characterization). Ultimately, I find it entertaining. [***½]

155. Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace - Let me just put this out there that I am binging on the Star Wars films to prepare myself for The Rise of Skywalker. Okay, now that that's out of the way, I'll give my take on this. I know that this movie has a lot of problems and it's often widely regarded as one of the worst Star Wars films (At least until The Last Jedi, but I'll get to that soon). I mean I won't argue, as the CGI looks pretty bad even for late-1990s standards (There was one part that made me think it was footage from a game, I kid you not), as well as some of way the characters were written and certain plot points. For example, I really don't think that Anakin needed to be a young boy, but I guess it would make sense for the timeline between this and Attack of the Clones (I mean Natalie Portman was only 16 when this was shot, as filming went on in 1997, but I am not certain about the ages for the characters). Also, I will note that unlike a lot of people, I don't hate Jar Jar. I mean, yes, he was a bit annoying, but I never had a problem with that character. I remember some people talking about Darth Maul like he was a great villain, but he wasn't featured much in the story, save for the big battle between Qui-Gon and him, with Obi-Wan joining in. But I don't hate this film. I enjoy it, but I am not going to argue about its problems, either.
156. Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones - I remember a lot of people saying negative things about this one, as well. Personally, I am not even sure what to think. I didn't feel much chemistry between Hayden Christensen and Natalie Portman. Not to mention that Anakin felt like one of those creepy guys who don't know what to say to a girl, as well as what NOT to say to a girl. Some of the CGI was pretty dodgy. Okay, I didn't mind the battle sequence in Genosis (Though I still wonder what the deal was about Padme's shirt getting ripped; not just with the fact that she showed her stomach, but the whole setup). Some of the story was a bit tough to follow. I mean I know about the part with Jango Fett being tasked with assassinating Padme, but we all know what was going to happen. I did like the appearances of Owen and Buru, and I have to hand it to the writers for some emotional bits with Anakin and his mother. Overall, I can't argue with others about the negativity surrounding it. I mean I will watch it should I choose to binge on these films, but it's not something I will either go out of my way to watch it, or if I am in the mood to watch any Star Wars film, this won't be high on the list.
157. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith - Okay, here I am in the final round for part 1 of the marathon. Now I will go on record and this was the best film of the prequels. I liked how they set up Anakin becoming Vader, as well as the motivations manipulated by Palpatine. The CGI didn't look as bad as the previous two films, though the backgrounds could have looked a little more realistic. You also can't go wrong with the two battles between Anakin/Obi-Wan and Yoda/Emperor. Story-wise, a lot of things worked, especially how you were able to see that Anakin cared more about Palpatine, which really set up everything in motion for the events of episodes IV through VI (And I will get to those as well). Of course, the parts with Vader killing those people was a bit much, given his portrayal in this compared to the others that we all know and love. But I still stand by that this was the best of the three prequels.
Three down, five to go. Or six to go as I am also going to see The Rise of Skywalker this Thursday.

The cast, especially Robert Pattinson, put in good work. It’s just nowhere near enough to save this flat out boring story. [**]

Okay, part 2 of my Star Wars marathon has ended, so here it goes.
158. Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope - I know, I know, some people still refer to it as just "Star Wars," as that was what it was released as, but I call it "A New Hope." Anyway, onto the review. This is still heralded as a classic and for a movie that came out 42 years ago, it's still a classic. Not just with the story and action, but also the effects. Okay, we can talk about the Blu Ray releases have digital effects added in, but what I liked was how certain things were used as props, such as the weapons and also the droids. Even when watching the original versions, the effects are so good that they still hold up now. It's still a classic to this day.
159. Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back - Definitely a sequel done right in its day. It took place sometime after "A New Hope," as well as a good story to be told about Luke's future as a Jedi master. The same could be said about some backstory to Han Solo and the budding romance of him and Leia. Let's not forget that the effects still hold up. Sure, it was a downer ending, but it did set up "Return of the Jedi." Speaking of which...
160. Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi - Okay, the last round of my second part of the marathon. Here it goes. The conclusion of this story was satisfying in a lot of ways. The opening parts of the story were done right, with the conflict of Jabba having a satisfying conclusion (Not to mention Carrie Fisher looked damn hot in that bikini), especially with that good action scene in the desert. As for the main story, I felt that the whole thing with Luke, Vader, and the Emperor was just gold, especially after watching "Revenge of the Sith" yesterday. Plus, you can't go wrong with the action scenes in Endor, whether it was the chase, or the big battle with the Ewoks and the Imperial Forces. Aside from the digital effects being added in (Watching it on Blu Ray, that singer alien in Tattoine was just distracting), the practical effects were done well. Such a satisfying conclusion for its time and for this trilogy in the entire saga.
Now I just need to do "The Force Awakens" and "The Last Jedi." I will do those soon.

161. Varsity Blues - Taking a break from my Star Wars marathon, as I will continue it tomorrow, as I am seeing The Rise of Skywalker in the evening. So today, I watched this from start-to-finish for the first time (I had seen parts of it many times, but not the whole thing). I remember that this was pretty popular among my peers when I was in junior high and in high school, but I didn't watch it fully until today (Yes, I know the movie is almost 21 years old). Anyway, I don't know much about football, but I have seen my share of football films. I do like how this movie touches on how obsessed some Texas towns can be with high school football. While I thought that the Texan accents were annoying, what I liked was the story and Jon Voight's performance as the gung-ho coach. Plus, Ali Larter was damn hot in this film. What's also noticeable is how 90s this movie is. Also, it had a great message to it.

Man, with the year drawing to a close, I feel like I have been watching a lot of movies lately, or at least for the past few days.
162. A Snow Globe Christmas (2013) - So I ended up watching this not just because it's Christmas time, but also because I am a fan of Christina Milian. Speaking of whom, this should not, I repeat NOT be confused with 2007's Snowglobe, which I will soon watch. Anyway, typical Lifetime/Hallmark Christmas fluff, but it tells a good story with Alicia Witt playing a Scrooge-like person who after getting knocked out gets sent into a different world/reality with things so different. Donald Faison played a role as Witt's fantasy husband, who also appears in real life at some point. Christina Milian plays an angel-type in this film. It may have been cheesy, but it has a good message behind it and doesn't have the typical Christmas TV movie go-to plot that often happens.

50. Stormageddon - My viewing has gone from good to utter schlock recently. This film about AI controlling the weather/natural environment plus cyborgs that are trying to be the guy from Hitman is really awful.
But hey I am at 50 movies! Wooo!
