Speaking of the other Persona games, I really need to nail down who my main love interest in 3 is. It’s Naoto in 4 and Ann in 5. Can’t decide between Chihiro and Aigis in 3. If it's not Yuko it's not right. Mitsuru is the one true answer and other choices are the choice of heathens.

While as a game Persona 4 is clearly an inferior game to 5.It was the game that really exploded Persona into popularity. Because it has a really charming cast of characters with a message that speaks to any kind of audience. Being less dark than 3 probably helped too. The game is just so happy and wholesome. The non-main cast could have some better characters tho, not a big fan of the school clubs. Kanji and Naoto are just awesome in too many levels. The setting is the best of the series, really peaceful and chill. And the main villain is the best of the persona series( but closely follwoed by a certain traitor) I think the setting really helped it, all in all. The places you can go to in Inaba are really quite limited, but you actually do interact with the same characters a lot and they grow as your connection with the town grows. Really becomes very familiar over the course of the game in general.

Yosuke sucks, big whoop, wanna fight uhbout it?
But nah, it's a good game. I'd put 5 over it all day, but it's good. It does have the Heavy Rain issue where the game's a slog if you know the story already (it plays out like a murder mystery, and if you have the person/people involved spoiled in advance, it takes a TON of the thunder out).
I also liked the anime quite a bit and the Arena games, to the point I'm anxiously awaiting a P5A.

This thread (and the fact my friend has been streaming Persona 5) is why I just decided to buy Persona 4 for my PS3.
It’s downloading now.
I’ve never played a Shin Megami Tensei game before. I know their reputation and am actually a little nervous about this.

Technically the series is more of an off branch/subseries. In fact the Japanese releases don’t even have Shin Megami Tensei in their titles. That’s something they added to the Western releases starting with Persona 3. Also, while some battles can occasionally be hella cheap, the Persona games aren’t anywhere near as difficult as the SMT titles can be.

It’s done downloading. I like the Igor voice much more The one in P5.

Started playing in earnest.
Got my Persona. Yosuke got his. Yosuke got us arrested for waving around weapons in public during a murder investigation.
I like this game, it’s fun.

Yeah, Yosuke's a bit of an eejit at times. Still grew to become one of my favourite characters. Just a shame there's no romance option with him.

Oooooh, boy. I was so scared that I screwed up my time management with the Yukiko Castle and thought I had run out of time with the weather forecast, but nope, it has be raining for a few days before the fog becomes a factor.
I’m at what I’m pretty sure is the boss room. I mean, it’s floor 7, and it’s the first save point I’ve seen in the castle.

It just happened to one of my save files! And first boss down!

Yeah, I made that very same mistake and used up a lot of the revival items on the Yukiko boss. On another note, forget what King Moron says, you can join two clubs as long as one is arts and the other sports.

The ones with Yosuke and Chie are still level one. Kinda regretting not doing the Chie Social Link meet up because it was the same day as the soccer practice.

Because Devil Survivor can kiss my ass with that last part.

I would suggest putting priority on your teammates social links since their personas learn new abilities as their social links grow. And the Fox Social Link as well. If you get its up high enough and have enough cash, you can make your way through the later dungeons in very few days. I managed to do one near the end in a single day because of the Fox's SP healing abilities.
