After over six months and ninety-five hours of game time, I've have finally beaten this game and... what a journey.
I went into this game having no real clue about the Persona series, or any other games/series of Atlus, so rather went in blind to begin with. Major plot points were spoiled along the way, due to me searching blindly for Hiimdaisy's comics, but that didn't take away from the actual impact of moments that happened. The characters were fantastic, the story well told with the emotional parts superbly done, and the comedy actually hitting all the right notes.
Gamelpay wise, it was all really top notch stuff as well, with the combat system being crisp and the Fusion system with all the Personas working well. I accidentally summoned Satan, you guys!
I could honestly gush about this game for hours, especially the characters (Yosuke really should have been a romantic option though). I've never had a game which I've invested so much time in consistently to complete. It isn't perfect and there are some niggles here and there (The game over if the MC dies mechanic can go sit in a ditch), but this eventually has become my favourite game of all time. Even the stuff that I was unsure about at first, such as the aesthetics and some of the grinding parts, I grew to really love or, at the very least, tolerate.
Anyone else have thoughts on the game? Just literally finished it, so still kind of on a high with it myself, but this has turned out to be a fantastic ride.
And, one last time:

I finished up 5 a little over a week ago, only one of the games I've played. I'm wondering on checking out 3 or 4 soon but not sure which to do first.

I'd just flip a coin, they're both pretty great. 4 made some improvements on 3s combat though (in 3 you can only control your character and can only give general instructions to your AI teammates).

Huge Persona fan! Played 5, 3: FES and 4: Golden (In that order) over the course of 2018 and 4 tops my list and is probably one of my favorite games of all time. 4 features my favorite setting, storyline, villain and love interest (Naoto, see my avatar) of the series. đź’•

I love how the Vita is just this perfect little Persona machine.
Thanks to its access to the digital copies of PSP games and PSOne Classics, you can play Persona 1, Persona 2(both games), Persona 3 Portable, and Persona 4: Golden on it.

I hadn't realized the game was this old. Gosh.
Naoto, Chie, and Kanji were probably my favorites, though I liked most of the cast.
I liked most of them in 3, too, even if some of them (like Yukari) were a slow burn on me developing much affection for them.

I started playing it after I beat Persona 5 and the story has got me hooked so far, I'm up to the second dungeon (I think it's the Bathhouse).

But in the PSP version you get control. They're both worth playing but I wouldn't play two persona games back to back. Love Persona 4, one of my all-time favourite games, nails the feeling of hanging with friends and gives a stangely nostalgic feeling.

While as a game Persona 4 is clearly an inferior game to 5.It was the game that really exploded Persona into popularity. Because it has a really charming cast of characters with a message that speaks to any kind of audience. Being less dark than 3 probably helped too.
The game is just so happy and wholesome. The non-main cast could have some better characters tho, not a big fan of the school clubs.
Kanji and Naoto are just awesome in too many levels. The setting is the best of the series, really peaceful and chill. And the main villain is the best of the persona series( but closely follwoed by a certain traitor)

Is 4 available on PS3 or PS4 at this time? Only on PS3. The PS2 selection on the PS4 is absolutely pathetic.

I only played this game for the first time two years ago, but I do not exaggerate: I think it changed my life. After getting about halfway through, I literally took a day off of work just so I could marathon through to the game’s end for 20 hours.
There are lots of games I love, but Persona 4 downright inspired me to be a better person. I absolutely believe that this game should be given to teenagers as a positive example of how to reach out to people, be a good friend and citizen, help those in need, and navigate growing up. Great gameplay, a story that left me in tears at the end, and characters I really did start to feel were my friends and who I all loved toward the end.
This is reminding me that I still haven’t finished Persona 5.

Really should try to play 4 (and 5) one of these days. Someday, in any case. Stopped at 3 on the PSP. Before, it was the second bit of 2 on the PS1 (which kinda confused me since the first part of 2 didn't have a translation back then, I think). Also played 1 on the PSP, but way before that I played the Americanized version of 1 on the PS1. Didn't really think about that bit that much, so imagine my surprise when I saw the characters as they originally were on the PSP.

Def tackle 5 first, it is really good and changes up the dungeon aspect of the game so it doesn't feel like you are just going through the paces while you commit close to 100 hours or more to this game

Speaking of the other Persona games, I really need to nail down who my main love interest in 3 is. It’s Naoto in 4 and Ann in 5. Can’t decide between Chihiro and Aigis in 3.
