Ring of Honor “Conquest Tour 2016: Philadelphia”
March 12th, 2016
From the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Commentators: Kevin Kelly and Mr. Wrestling 3
Tonight: Jay Lethal defends the Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Championship against Matt Sydal and Kushida defends the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against ACH.
Dalton Castle comes out for his match but unfortunately his opponent (some guy named “Kenny Omega”) couldn’t be here tonight. He instead plans on having a talk show tonight and giving everyone in the crowd a puppy! This brings out the All-Night Express who waste a bit of time before it all leads into a match.
3 on 2 Handicapped Match
Dalton Castle & the Boys vs. the All-Night Express
This was a lot better than I expected. It was short, which helped it a lot. Anything more than five minutes of the Boys is way too much.
Winners: the All-Night Express
BJ Whitmer & Cedric Alexander w/Veda Scott vs. Jonathan Gresham & Adam Page
This was a surprisingly really good match too. Fast-paced and much anger.
Winners: Jonathan Gresham & Adam Page
Matt Taven joins the commentary booth.
The Briscoes & Cheeseburger vs. War Machine & Moose w/Stokely Hathaway
This has its moments. It was very entertaining.
Winners: War Machine & Moose
Kenny Omega t-shirt ad.
For the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship
ACH vs. Kushida (champion)
There was a great “better than Roadblock” chant during this match referring to WWE Roadblock, which was happening the same night as this (which I was actually at, one of the last WWE events I’ve attended). The match was good but wasn’t working for me.
Winner: Kushida
Joey Daddiego w/Taeler Hendrix’s breasts vs. Will Ferrara
Every time Will Ferrara music hits I think it’s Pokémon coming out. This was horrid.
Winner: Will Ferrara via disqualification
Donovan Dijak comes out and goes after Joey Daddiego.
Adam Cole & Roderick Strong vs. reDRagon
Yikes, am I watching NXT? I’m not a fan of any of these four guys but they do have great chemistry together and this was a really good match.
Adam Cole & Roderick Strong
The Addiction vs. the Motor City Machine Guns vs. the Young Bucks w/“Broomega” (a broom in the place of Kenny Omega)
This was good but it went on way too long.
Winners: the Addiction
Worst of Steve Corino DVD ad.
For the Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Championship
Matt Sydal vs. Jay Lethal (champion) w/Taeler Hendrix’s breasts
This was good but I couldn’t get myself to care.
Winner: Jay Lethal

DVD bonus features:
Gifted Punishment vs. Leon St. Giovanni & Shaheem Ali
Another match for the impending “Coast 2 Coast with the Most: the history of LSG” DVD I’m sure is being pressed as you read this. This actually wasn’t too bad and it may have been the most over Punishment Martinez ever was in his Ring of Honor run. But when is the crowd never not red hot during an LSG match?
Winners: Gifted Punishment
Veda Scott, Taeler Hendrix & Kyoko Kimura vs. Mandy Leon, Jenny Rose & Sumie Sakai
This...really wasn’t bad either.
Winners: Mandy Leon, Jenny Rose & Sumie Sakai
Post show recap.

This was a really good show. Even the matches I wasn’t too high on were still really good. Except the Joey Daddiego verses Will Ferrera match. But I’m starting to enjoy Joey Daddiego matches just to see how lost he looks during them. Shit, even the bonus matches were good. I’m gonna call this one one of the better Ring of Honor event DVD’s I have.
From what I gathered this was the first show Ring of Honor had after the exit of Truth Martini from their roster.
I felt so bad for this one dad and his young son sitting in the front row of this show. You could tell the dad really wanted to be there and wanted his son to love it too and enjoy it with him but the child was way too young (probably five years old, tops) and looked done after the first match. I’ve been there many times.
My wife would like to pour a bucket of water on Taeler Hendrix. I’m not sure what her problem is with Ms. Hendrix? There was a lot of focus on her during this show. The crowd seemed very interested in parts of her.
