I really enjoyed seeing Hogan celebrating mean gene. It was tasteful and worthy of his legendary career. I legit teared up a bit. I love the old Hogan music and the classic Hogan voice. Nice moment there.

I don't think the video package needed an MC - rather, I would have liked to have seen more pre-taped interviews with people remembering him.
Hogan being Hogan added no value to me personally.

I tore up a bit when the Hulk mentioned wrestling heaven.
All things aside, he's one of the last of a dying generation and the leader of my personal Golden Era. It was a fitting tribute and Hogan looked fittingly remorseful and close to breaking down.

At risk of being "that guy", there had to be a way to honour Gene without tying it to the big orange cloud of controversy that has become Hulk Hogan.

Hogan was the only real choice, short of Vince himself (and I don't think he wanted to do it).
For all the crap Hogan gets, and rightfully so, he did a great job last night. He's a lot of things, but he's human and I genuinely think Gene's death really hurt him

I also was glad that they didn't turn it into an angle like jinder Mahal interrupting to get taken out by Hogan and Apollo crews or something.

That said, he should just be regulated to stuff like this, video games, network specials, and toys. He shouldn't be in RAW every week.

Hogan and Gene were together in the AWA, WWF, and WCW. They were synonymous with each other. I don’t see the issue. It’s not like Hogan was brought back for an angle. He was more fitting than anyone available to give a tribute to Gene.
Clearly the WWE did it for a reason (easier to bring Hogan back on TV without the backlash) but everything they do has an agenda behind it, so you have to take it for what it is.

Hogan being there last night was a farewell to the Rock n Wrestling era of the WWF. The more I think about it, the stronger I feel that was an ulterior motive to the tribute.
In a way, if that's Hogan's last appearance, it was terribly appropriate. Have him on the Network doing retrospective pieces here & there, but current product wise.......that has to be it.

Being a bad person, and I think Hogan qualifies, doesn’t mean you’re incapable of doing something good. And Hogan did right by Mean Gene. It was a very nice tribute.

At risk of being "that guy", there had to be a way to honour Gene without tying it to the big orange cloud of controversy that has become Hulk Hogan. Yeah, it was gross.
I didn't see the segment, the moment I saw Hogan walking I tuned out until the end of Raw, but one thing I noticed about the thread and social media is that there was more talk about Hogan than about Mean Gene and that was my and others' whole point about the situation and what we said would happen. Hogan returning, even if it was to celebrate Mean Gene, overshadowed Gene's celebration and more talk went towards Hogan than the man who's not here anymore. If you check the videos there's more views and comments about Hogan than Gene, more talk about how Hogan deserved to do it compared to who Gene was, compared to what he represented, ugh. I see the "well Hogan deserved to do it-" comments and the more I read them I'm like "nah, let's talk about Gene compared to Hogan, put all the light on him." It's just, nah. That's not what you do.
Fact is that if a man has passed all the light should be on said man compared to someone who's associated with said man and the fact that I'm seeing more comment on Hogan than the man who died is, ugh, nasty.
RIP Mean Gene first, foremost and always. He deserved better than this.

To be honest, outside of this board I don’t think that many really care. Crowd reaction in the arena was positive and WWE wasn’t getting roasted by anyone for bringing him back. I thought it was a good a fitting tribute. Hulk was the right guy and looked legit upset about Mean Gene. In the end Hulk is human and made a mistake, we all make mistakes. I dont think what he did was unforgivable.

This is one of those things where I don't think anybody's in the wrong either way for enjoying it or not watching. Even though I don't care to see Hogan on a weekly basis, with or without the controversy, I thought it was a nice segment.

I thought Hogan was fine & his role made sense to me. That said, I totally understand people who don’t want him back for anything.

The thing about Hogan is that while he's been a shit human being, if you start demanding shit human beings off TV then you have to go beyond him. Brock "I hate gays" Lesnar, Ronda "Sandy Hook was fake" Rousey, Lars "White Power" Sullivan, etc. They either all need to f*** off, or none of them should. I don't agree with any of their shitty views, but banishing one person for doing equal shit to your top men's and women's champions isn't a good look either.

However, I caught some of it on YouTube and he really did do a great job. The emotion seemed genuine and he and Gene really were close. So, I didn't really have a problem with it. I just hope that this is not used to put him back on TV on a regular basis.

I certainly understand why some people have negative feelings towards Hogan, but the dude has done more charity work than 90% of athletes in his place. I believe only Cena has granted more wishes than him, and he did it without the WWE telling everyone about it.
As much as people like Flair and Bret disliked him at one time, they always gave kudos towards his work with (usually terminally ill children). Yes, what he said was really stupid, but I don't think he is some evil human being that everyone needs to constantly attack because we live in this online lynch mob mentality where we see everything as being so cut and dry.
