My favorite era was 89, from the first Steamboat-Flair match to the November Clash of Champions with Funk-Flair I Quit. So much greatness. Great Muta, Midnight Express, Steve Williams, Skyscrapers, Steiner Brothers emerging, Eddie Gilbert, Brian Pillman,Road Warriors.
My favorite matches all time come from that area, even matches from Saturday Night (Funk versus a young Eddie Guerrero), World Wide (Great Muta vs a jobber Scott Hall), and a Luger-Pillman match from Havoc 89, which is in my top 5 all time.
And Jim Ross, Bob Caudle, Jim Cornette, Paul Heyman, Missy Hyatt, Lance Russell doing TV.
Im also im agreement with the Oct 91 through before Hogan, and the 96 until late 98.

89, Flair’s early return from the wwf, and 96-98. Rest of it sucked.

If you like your wrestling completely absurd but with entertaining storyline follow-through and commitment, summer 1993 is a lot of fun.
WCW basically got its Tuesday Night Titans phase completed in a single summer. Fun stuff.

If we are talking strictly WCW, it would be 88-90 for me and I then dropped out and picked up again in 95 around the start of Nitro. Soo...
88-90, 95-99 roughly

Not including the classic NWA years, I really liked WCW from around 1992-early 1994, and around late 1995 to the nWo era before Starrcade 1997. I still kept up with it after that until late 1999 when Russo arrived and things went from bad to flat out embarrassing. I thought the early Nitros were really good with Luger being a tweener where he was a heel vs. Hogan/Savage but would always stay loyal to his friend Sting.

I absolutely love 1998. Everyone craps on it so much saying it got stale, but it's my favorite year of WCW.
Crowds were red hot. DDP and Goldberg were insanely over. The Wolfpac did NOT suck, and were over like crazy, providing a fresh spin on the nWo. Jericho was an awesome heel. Scott Steiner was nuts and developing a personality. Buff Bagwell was a great sidekick. The Raven/Saturn feud was excellent. Konnan was a fun character. Kidman and Juventud's pushes were entertaining. I ate up Dennis Rodman and Karl Malone in WCW (grew up and lived in Chicago, was a huge Bulls fan) Eddie Guerrero and his alliance/feud with Chavo, as well as new layers of his feud with Mysterio.
I know there was a lot of turmoil, but I love it.

I enjoyed most of WCW, so it's easier for me to point out the times I didn't enjoy.
1990 sucked, just plain sucked.
Hogan's arrival in mid '94 to the first Nitro in Sep '95 was pretty much terrible. Things picked up after that.
1999-2000 were really rough, especially the Russo shit.

Honestly, all of it except the Hogan & Friends Cartoon Variety Hour from mid 94 to fall 95. I was always a big WCW fan.
but if I had to specifically highlight, from early 1996 until the Fingerpoke is fantastic, and I like the 89-92 spell. I feel like I bring it up a lot but maybe that's because I feel like it should be brought up more- Ron Simmons beating Vader for the world title is one of my favourite title changes in history and he should have been a made man after that. Criminal that he dropped down the card then became a midcard nothing in WWE.

From 88 until 92, when I attended a bunch of shows live. Save for possibly the last show I attended in December 92 (until 96), the attendance wasn't bad at all. 3500+ fans was common.
96, sheesh, the Civic Center was a frickin madhouse for the nWo.
