Why would you wear an AEW shirt to a WWE event though. Because they're edgy and rebellious! ....or...and stay with me here...they’re wrestling fans and THAT was the shirt they happened to wear that day? Like, i’m a firm believer of 100% not being That Guy and wearing the shirt of the band you’re going to see (praise be to the High Priest of Logic that is is Jeremy Piven’s character in PCU)....and I kind of apply that logic when it comes to wrestling events/the shirt I happen to be wearing. Which is why if I go to a WWE Event i’m NOT going to be a wearing a WWE T-shirt (even if it’s a retro thing like AUSTIN 3:16.) Yes, it’s true, there are those ‘edgy’ & ‘rebellious’ types out there who are doing exactly what you’re mocking. But, sometimes, a damn...I dunno...Marty Scurll T-shirt is just that. A damn t-shirt.

In the case of the "we got kicked out specifically because of our shirts" guys... I'd imagine they're more the edgelord type, seeing as hundreds of fans wear non-WWE shirts all the time at events, on TV, even front row and center without issue.

I doubt this is a policy. Every WWE show I've been to for the last 2 years has had a ton of people letting the rest of us know they shop at Hot Topic wearing Bullet Club shirts. Yeah, I mean, why go into a readily available physical location to buy something you want because you’re a fan when you can order it online from another place, pay an extra $8 or so for the privilege of having it sent to your home and wait an extra week or so to get it....

People who show up to events to bro-dude their way through it, be gigantic pricks, do everything they can to get attention on themselves while trying to ruin other people enjoyment of the show should 100% be kicked out of events like this. Sorry, Timmy...buying a ticket is not an ironclad contract that gives you carte blanche to be an insufferable asshole. But, that said, this dismissive attitude I see permeating so many discussions that makes ANYONE who wears an ELITE/AEW shirt into some kind of attention seeking edge lord just aggravates me to no end. (And, because I used to work in media and my ainstincts are kicking in - FULL DISCLOSURE; Yes, I own MULTIPLE Elite member T-shirts {1 for Kenny, 1 for the Bucks, & 1 for Marty.} Yes, I bought them at Hot Topic {because why pay for shipping AND have to wait for something i want when I can literally walk into a store just buy one?} Yes, I will buy - and wear - future Elite/AEW shirts because i’m a fan. No, I am not an edge lord.)

I've heard that they turn away fans who don't wear pants. Is that true? Only if you don’t have amazing thighs.

“me and my family just got turned away in this cold weather by the WWE. they took our AEW shirts away, even from my 3 year old nephew, and told us to "rot in the cold and let the elite give us shelter, boy." i'm shaking right now, not sure where i can take my family anymore” From Twitter. I’m dying. These cats lying for the vine And that three year old boy was Albert Einstein!

I've heard that they turn away fans who don't wear pants. Is that true? It's disappointing that WWE doesn't support the No Pants Community.

I mean, if I was a McDonald's franchisee, I wouldn't be pleased to see a bunch of customers wearing Wendy's gear and eating Baconators in my lobby, just sayin'...

Difference being I don't think there's a single restaurant in the world that allows you to bring outside food or drink in with the exception of very small children, whereas I'm personally not aware of any arena or stadium where you're banned from wearing anything but the home teams gear. Which would be a much, much closer comparison. EDIT: And as someone who used to run a McDonald's, I didn't give a f*** if you were wearing Wendy's, KFC, Tim Horton's or 5 Guys shirts as long as you were spending money when you were at my store.

Per another report it was one group who were being assholes. Others got in no problem wearing the AEW shirts. Per another report, the only people wearing them were Shakespearian cosplayers and people with butts for faces. This is fun.

This reminds me of something that happened at work a long time ago. Local dude applied for a job, didn't get it and spent the next 2 months telling everybody that would listen that he didn't get hired because he "didn't come from the right family".
Actually he failed his drug test. Twice. Because we gave him the benefit of the doubt the first time around.
But that doesn't make for a good "oh poor me" story.

If not them, somebody did try doing that during the playoffs. Or at the very least, they tried banning gear from the team the were facing. Either way, it went over very poorly, and was quickly reversed.
