Just a quick question, what was the temperature like? I know it's winter, but it's not a part of the world I see getting particularly cold, wondering why he already had a 2nd tshirt on under, just seems kinda odd to me. Arizona at night can get chilly, yesterday they had a low of 45 (7c) so wearing two layers isn't crazy. Plus there is no telling what the inside of the stadium was at. Inside the arena was pretty nice for the entire show, since they had the ceiling closed off. It was pretty chilly when it got out of the show though (at least for Arizona standards). Sadly, I missed this fiasco despite being seated about 100 feet away from this. I noticed the dude’s shirt when I first got to my seat, but I must have been on a bathroom trip as he was forced to change, and I didn’t notice he was wearing a different shirt until I saw social media after the show.

I genuinely would have thought this was all bullshit and would have gone to zero effort to try and prove myself wrong about it. Jesus Christ, WWE. They haven't even booked a single match.

You'd think WWE would realize all this is doing is handing them free advertising and building their buzz. No one's going to care about some guy in the crowd wearing an AWE shirt unless you tell him he can't.

I actually get it. The guy was sitting right at the end of the entrance ramp, an area that was going to be on camera a lot for that show. The guy also I think obviously assumed that this was possible. Why else would he just happen to be wearing another shirt under his AEW shirt? Also, it's not like the guy got mobbed by security and shot with pepper spray while the shirt got ripped off him. He didn't even get kicked out. This is only a story because social media is making it a story.

Cody is a smart man, but for the love of... please do you and make AEW a good product instead of pandering to the anti-WWE crowd.

This is yet another reason why I strongly dislike Vincent Kennedy McMahon as a human being.
Absolutely no wrestling fans should have ever been banned from attending any live WWE events
for wearing a T-Shirt of a rival wrestling promotion to a WWE event.
It's also a disgrace that WWE has forcefully taken away such an enormous amount of signs that fans had brought to WWE live events that were all fan-made.
Vince has proven lots and lots of times that he doesn't fully support freedom of speech or freedom of expression at WWE live events. Vince has greatly infuriated me such a truly gigantic amount of times over the years. Sadly, the WWE Hall of Fame is actually Vince's Hall of Fame.
There are a lot of professional wrestling legends from WWF/WWE, AWA, NWA or WCW that truly deserve to be inducted into the
WWE Hall of Fame that aren't yet in the WWE Hall of Fame due to Vince constantly snubbing them of the honor.

People have worn Bullet Club, ECW, Beer Money and other shirts and merchandize at WWE events.
Why is it now being an issue?

Like, I get the idea of another competitor scaring them or where someone is in a crowd but at this point right now, do you really think most fans are going to see that and go “AEW, what’s that?! I have to stop watching the Royal Rumble and find out about this thing I have no other context for!” I get WWE being concerned but at the moment, they’re as much a threat to you as, well, any other small wrestling promotion is.

Even if AEW does become a threat, it'll be years before they do

Did no one else see the row of guys in AEW merchandise on Smackdown? Hard camera side no less.

This is part of what's stupid about it. Who is going to see an AEW t-shirt on a WWE show and think 'hey, that person is wearing a t-shirt for a wrestling company I've never heard of. Better check it out!' Like... I love wrestling, but I don't think any promotion's t-shirt has ever made me think I should go watch it just because I saw someone wearing it in the crowd.
