I love great old school wrestling promos so I made this thread: I have been watching a lot of William Regal lately. To the shock of no one, the man is a promo master. Here, he gives a master class of how the art form should be done. In two minutes, he reflects upon his career, expresses regret, puts over his character, and puts over his opponent as a man who is not to be messed with. All in two minutes. Perhaps even more than that is the amazing use of body language and facial expressions. He goes from a look of reflection, to anger, to happiness, to fear, to acceptance. William Regal is the man.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4zmenHmjxk&t=3sI love great old school wrestling promos so I made this thread: I have been watching a lot of William Regal lately. You must have read my mind because I came in here to post this. Regal was an absolutely god-tier promo and it's often slept on because he rarely got highlighted doing so. There's this, the Ambrose promo where he's on about them being 2 of a kind and how Ambrose would be all "sweet" if Regal set a man on fire, the Eugene promo on HHH, the Hogan comedy promo...even that one random, super menacing & creepy "William put the hammer down...ahhh..." promo he did on WWE.com that was for no reason I remember. Like you say, in two minutes he could get over himself, his opponent, the upcoming story of the match, and the reason to tune in. A far cry from a 15 minute blathering nothingness, or the annoyingly trendy "I'm going to bury my opponent and run down why they're boring and suck as a performer" promo, which gets over nothing and nobody (I'm looking at you Kevin Owens). So many guys could learn from Regal.

Jake’s promo at WMVI. I was so used to shouting and hype from wrestlers in their promos that Jame talking slowly, softly and articulately was completely absorbing. He made you listen to what he had to say, and despite - or maybe because of - the soft voice, it was a promo still laced with menace and intimidation.
I’m unable to post clips, unfortunately, so if somebody would like to do the honours I’d be grateful.

6/25/83, Jimmy Snuka empty arena interview, part of the build to the Don Muraco match
Saw it on that one cage match DVD WWE put out
I can't find a clip of it, but Vince McMahon is interviewing him, and Snuka says some incomprehensible stuff (LOOK AT THIS FACE! LOOK AT THIS FOREHEAD!) then starts screaming DON MURACO!!!! and throwing wooden chairs.
