Russo trying and failing to partner with churches for his Ring of Glory promotion, who wanted nothing to do with wrestling due to how vulgar wrestling on TV had become...something Russo himself had been one of the major culprits of causing. This reminds me of something I saw on tv years ago. Just flipping around, I come across one of the religious channels, and who do I see? Sting and the Million Dollar Man. Now, I know they're religious, so I wanna see what they're doing. Keep in mind, Sting is in full Crow gear, facepaint and everything. DiBiase is the heel, Sting is the face, and they're in a ring. Sting gets swarmed by a bunch of Dibiase's henchmen, and he gets tied up in the ropes. Dibiase is taunting Sting. Sting lets out a very loud, "Help me, Jesus!" and gets out of the ropes. Sting then proceeds to get his BASEBALL BAT and starts wailing on the henchmen while DiBiase gets out of Dodge. I had to laugh that apparently Jesus was cool with somebody beating the shit out of people with a baseball bat. I was just like, "Wow. That just happened." What promotion was this? I’d really like to find footage of some Christian wrestling promotions from the early 2000s. Some of them had a surprising amount of star power between the older stars who were born again and younger guys who grew up in more religious areas.

Would it count as irony to say that I think Bret had way better matches with Scott Hall and Nash, despite HBK being the workhorse? It's weird. Shawn certainly is a great wrestler, but I feel like anytime he was paired with another workhorse, the end result isn't very compelling, between Hart and Hennig. I couldn’t agree with you more about Bret having great matches with Hall and Nash. Hart vs. Diesel at Survivor Series 1995 might just be my favorite Bret match ever. I did think Michaels could work with other workhorses though. He had some great matches with Bret. Unfortunately one of their most remembered matches WM XII was too tough to pull off and still feels like a chore to watch sometimes. Some guys can pull off hour long matches but a lot of factors have to be in place along with great chemistry. Otherwise even really talented guys can still make that hour feel like...well an hour or more.

Jake Roberts on raw claiming to have found religion and be a better man. Mick Foley told a story about Jake getting so drunk during this time that he pissed on parked cars just to mess with people.

Andrew Mincey(sp?) played Jesus in both, as "Joshua" in the first and "Asa the janitor" in the second. He just didn't wrestle in the second one because of the injury, just cut the loooooooooooooooong promo at the end. Oh thanks so it was only Mincey then. Only in a Vince Russo show would Jesus be the first one to go down with injury. For some reason the hero of the second show was Jimmy Rave, of all people

Ring of Glory was supposed to emphasize moral and religious values, the wrestlers even prayed with the fans at the end. They also booked Hardbody Harrison. The same guy who was sent to prison for life because of sex trafficking.

Ric Flair taken to school by Terry Funk, after Ric insinuated to Funk that he was not a worthy challenger for his NWA title.

The Rhodes/Blacktop Bully match at Uncensored...that got censored. Barry Darsow’s story was hilarious about getting fired. Bischoff called him into his office and told Barry that he had good news and bad news. The good ones was that the match came better than expected but the bad news was that he had to let Barry go. Eric then told Barry to please not give him any grief about firing him that he didn’t want to do it but they got pissed that him and Dustin Rhodes bladed. Eric then told him that he would hire him back once the heat went away. What I learned until recently was that allegedly Mike Graham, the agent of the match, sabotaged Rhodes and Bully because he told them to blade. I wonder if Mike did that to get revenge on Dusty because of how Florida went down.

Vince McMahon owns WCW and ECW.
He does not own the WWF.

Wasn't there that Extreme Rules PPV back in 2018 or 2017 where they had a match where a defending champion (I want to say it was The Miz vs Ambrose but I'm not completely sure) had to avoid getting DQ'd or he'd lose his title? 2017 it was Dean(c) vs. Miz for the IC Belt. I mean it wasn't hyped as an extreme rules match or anything and it had been over half a decade since every match was under hardcore rules at that point (2011 not counting the Dark Match)

Yep, several wrestlers just showed up to it and hung out backstage. It's a common thing at bigger shows with workers in the area stopping by to see old friends, maybe catch the eye of someone who might hire them, etc. I'm guessing Harrison was seeing what the deal was and if maybe Russo had a spot for him.

Vince McMahon, the most powerful man in wrestling, can't properly pronounce the word "wrestling." Also the LJN company probably having Vince's name on their contract and yet they misspelled his named as "McMann" on their sticker that goes on the LJN toy front of the cards.

Sorry, I was just flipping around channels and happened to see Sting. This was before TNA though, if that's any help.
