There's been talk of trying out WWE NXT Superstar Tino Sabbatelli as a TV announcer, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. There's no word yet on if Tino would call main roster action or developmental action, or if they are going to give him the look. It was announced back in May 2018 that Tino had suffered a torn pectoral muscle during a live event match with The Velveteen Dream. The former NFL player, who was signed in 2014, was expected to be out of action for around 9 months, but he hasn't been cleared and may not be back in action any time soon. Tino has been having issues since the surgery and his situation was described as being similar to the situation that RAW Superstar Jason Jordan is in. Regarding Jordan, he has been out of action since February 2018 after undergoing neck surgery and WWE has had him working as a backstage producer because his in-ring return has been pushed back. The Observer reports this week that Jordan is doing pretty good, but he's still having issues with his gripping power and his inability to make a fist in one hand, and his inability to fully control the same hand. www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2019/01/backstage-update-on-jason-jordan-wwe-status-649703/

Isn't Tino rather old for NXT, like 35? I think his small canoe of a chance has floated away for him. A bummer for him, but for me, I didn't find him all interesting. Sucks to hear about Jordan, would have liked to see him have a good tag run and build some character. Could be a good IC champ down the road.

Was Tino the one who nearly killed Hideo Itami off a botched powerslam, or was that Riddick Moss?

So when Jordan returns, will they keep him as Angle's son or brush that under the carpet?

Jordan will never wrestle again, sadly.
And is Tino still with Mandy Rose? That motherf***er.

Tino played football for the same college I went to. I was hoping he would make it. Hopefully the announcer gig works out. It was cool to see him work in Oregon though. Even if duck “fans” booed him

Giving Tino a berth on one of the C-shows with someone experienced to guide him might not be bad. He's gotta be better than Riley was. If he's out for good, I expect Moss to get the boot sooner than later.

Gangsta!!! That's what I most remember about Tino from Breaking Ground. I remember the crowd just absolutely hating him during one of the NXT TV shows in Atlanta. Couldn't stop chanting "Tino sucks!' It was great.

If he's out for good, I expect Moss to get the boot sooner than later. For what it’s worth, Moss is back on the Florida loop now, developing an act based around something called the “Riddick Regimen”, which I hope becomes a full-on Simon Dean fitness informercial guy schtick.

Sucks that it looks like Jordan isn't going to be able to wrestle again. Struggling to form a fist and having issues with his grip must be frustrating as hell to live with day by day, never mind preparing for a comeback in the squared circle.

It’s great that WWE experiments with alternative positions for people rather than just cutting them like they would have in the past. I heard they also had Sage Beckett (Rosie Lottalove) try out as an announcer before she left.
I think Tino is unlikely to have any success as a wrestler at this point, with his age, experience and injuries working against him. But maybe he’ll click as an announcer. Maybe a manager?
Jason Jordan is a really unfortunate story, but again it’s great that WWE is trying different things to keep him around.

The Jason thing is such a bummer to me, really liked where his story was going, but I hope he finds success and happiness working backstage in WWE

He makes sure they get some sort of payment, medical expense etc. Edit: nvm. I ser you mean giving them a purpose, not just a paycheck. My bad!

Sad that Jordan got taken out when he finally was reaching his stride but he's young and has a potential long time backstage career in WWE

I have no idea if Tino can cut a promo or not, but he has a good douchebag look. I could see him as a manager like Lio Rush.
"Gangster."

Tino might be the most amazingly talented washout ever. Dude’s got great physical skills for NFL and wrestling but just can’t put those skills together to be great at either.
