Figured this could be useful for a lot of folks. What do you take and how does it help you?
Anyone have any success taking anything to help with focus? Long story short, I really have no attention span; my mind is always bouncing from thought to thought. Being unable to concentrate on tasks has been a huge source of depression for me for a long time, and it's prevented me from doing so many things that I want to. My doctor's just keep switching me from one anxiety medication to the next, with very little success.

I have really bad insomnia. I’ve had it ever since I was a kid. I found that I couldn’t focus very well if I didn’t get enough sleep. Sleep is honestly the best remedy for that. When I’m well rested I feel better physically and I focus so much better too. I have to put in an effort to really tire myself out sometimes just so I can actually get some sleep. That’s how I got into working out which also made me feel more confident and healthier. I had so much restless energy that I decided to put it to use. Haha. I know this probably isn’t the answer you were looking for but that’s what helped me.

Half a benadryl usually does the trick if I'm restless. I lift weights pretty often; no patience for cardio though. :/ I have a treadmill where I work and a heavy bag at home, but I haven't used either in months. Ugh. I appreciate any suggestions. I didn't give a whole lot of info in the OP.

I too struggle with my concentration, and honestly what works best for me was cleaning up my diet and eliminating alcohol. Are you getting to the gym? Gor for a walk or a slight run 5 days a week just to get some of that stress out.

I also walked everywhere up until 3 years ago because I wasn't allowed to drive due to seizures. I was doing at least four miles a day to get to and from work - didn't help with my focus. I do plan on joining a gym again after I fix up my car. It's easier to stay focused when you're surrounded by exercise equipment, heh.

I don't do the pill form of vitamins, but I do drink a lot of vitamin-enriched beverages, such as V8, Body-Armor flavored water (the sugar-free variety), and have tried a few different types of tea, which isn't really a favorite of mine, but is better than going back to soda. I've also been experimenting with aromatherapy. I got a vaporizer for Christmas and bought a few types of scented oils that all supposedly have their own unique benefits to them. I used a lavender oil during the night a few nights ago and slept a good 7 1/2 hours for the first time in ages. If you're looking for focus, I've been told that Rosemary is good for it, but I haven't tried it for myself yet.

Soda, coffee, energy drinks, tea, are these regular in your diet

Talk to your doctor and see if any vitamins would aid with a prescription. Vitamins or supplements can do well in supporting a prescription (for instance I take Vitamin D and Fish Oil supplements after I started on my antidepressant), but they aren't a replacement either.
As for me, I take the above, a daily multivitamin, B Supercomplex, and a Vitamin C chewable.

Oh man, I take a bunch. In the morning, I take resveratrol, vitamin D, and beef liver tablets. In the evening, I take melatonin, ZMA, fish oil, and curcumin. When I work out, I take a pre workout, and whey and casein and carbohydrate mix before and during, and then creatine right afterwards.
To the OP with focus issues, what has really helped me slow my brain down and essentially retrain my focus, was to change some behaviors. For instance, I only do one thing at a time. If I'm watching TV or playing a game, that's all I do, I don't split my focus between that and my phone. If I'm listening to a podcast or reading a book, that's all I do. Especially when reading, I actually turn my phone off. The urge to sneak a peek at it in between pages can distract you.

I started taking a turmeric supplement about nine months ago, thinking it might help some inflammation and joint issues I have. It didn't do much for that that I've noticed, but I have noticed an improvement in my cycles, and the last three or four years, I'd always get sick with something that would eventually send me to the dr for relief between October to December, but here we are in January and I feel great, and the turmeric is the only thing I'm doing differently so yay
I've taken a multi, Calcium and Vitamin C for years

I've been taking care of a disabled boy (he's actually 24, but looks about 6) for the past 8 years and he can't do much besides watch TV.. So for those 8 years, everything I've done has included the TV being on pretty loudly. Damn. Thanks for alerting me to that.

It might not have any bearing on you and your particular issues with focus.
