So Joe's had his cup of coffee in the big time now (he said he was bitter in the video package! Pete Dunne's finish is the bitter end! Get some sugar for your hot drinks, Joe, fer chrissakes) and I am completely sold on the guy.
When he turned heel at the tournament show last year I wasn't really sold on him. NXT UK has a pretty large number of guys whose whole gimmick seems to be 'yes, I am a large man, but LOOK AT THIS SHIT I CAN DO!' and I'm not really that impressed by a lot of them (hello Dave Mastiff), and I just kinda chalked him up to being that.
His promo in the video package was excellent and felt like a human talking rather than the usual WWE buzzword bullshit. Plus he had a believable motivation. He's got a cool stable, which also gives Wolfgang something to do, because they've really not known what they're doing with Wolfie until this.
He just seems to get it. I thought that was a bravura performance with Dunne (mega botch aside), I need to make a note of it for when the Golden Snowcones roll around again.

The NXT UK title match was amazing, every grapple seemed like an effort for both men and Dunne looked like he'd had the hardest match of his career by the end.
A lot of why it was great was down to Joe Coffey, I could buy him and Gallus getting "promoted" to the main NXT roster later this year.
E: Gallus theme is lit.

I really enjoyed the match and his promo work. Not super sold on him being a star or anything, but definitely a good hand to have around.

Overall I thought the match with Dunne was good, along with his NXT UK run. Haven't see much before this. I did think with Dunne, he wrestled a good match, but didn't wrestle like he was going to win that match. Getting slow to pinfall covers was one thing that I noticed.

I thought they both worked really hard and i honestly thought it wasn't a very good match. So many miscues, missteps, forgetting to sell and then obviously the ending. I don't know if one or both were working nervous, they don't have chemistry or if it was just an off night. I really did think it was a bit grating though.
In saying that, i think Coffey can be a player. I liked the pre match promo too, he's a big brute dude, hope it works out!

The hell was that top rope spot supposed to be where it was screwed up twice and almost ended up severely hurting themselves?

The hell was that top rope spot supposed to be where it was screwed up twice and almost ended up severely hurting themselves? Maybe a top-rope X-Plex from Dunne? I don’t think he hit the move anywhere else in the match.
